Product Overview

Everyone knows the problem: it's always easy to find something sturdy for one end of a hammock, but the other end is usually not quite right. The Madera solves the problem. Simple in design, and made from the highest quality materials, simply stand up the hardwood bars and drive the pin into the ground and you are ready to hang any Amazonas Hammock. The Madera stand has jointed legs for easy assembly, storage and shipping.

Does this product have to be used on soft ground? Can it be used on concrete?

There is no way to attach it to concrete unless you have an existing anchor...even then I wouldn't trust the legs would stay out. They are somewhat pointed to dig into the ground to keep them from slipping

Is this product designed to hold a two-adult hammock, est. adult weight 300 lbs.?

It's usually fine when I'm in it, but the moment I get out and the wind (5-12 knots) catches the hammock, half of one leg falls out, the whole thing tips, or the legs slide (in turf). My last adventure pulled the anchor out of the ground and the stand hit my knee which is swollen now. I weigh 106 pounds and am an experienced camping hammocker ... So I am returning this. It doesn't seem to work for me. I'd rather look for 2 trees.

Decent design, but will only work in firm soil (and you will need a mallet to get the anchor in securely). I recommend grabbing a spiral ground anchor if you plan to use this in sand or loose soil

It took me three or four times to get the set up and gain confidence in its capability. Now that I have it works great. One downside, the metal anchor is too heavy to carry around, even car camping, and takes a 5 lb sledge hammer to drive into the ground and more work to pull it out. I use the long Orange Screws which do the same job and are much easier to work with. If you need something you can tuck away in your trunk that takes only seconds to set up this should do the trick.
