Terrible product. Doors comes in pieces and must be put together which is easy to do, but not when pieces are broken. Several door pieces were broken during shipment and the stain looks bad. Not worth the $486 as you can get a better door for $125, hardware for $100 and you can stain it your self and it will look so much better.
Only positive thing is that they are sending me pieces to repair the door so I can finally finish the install.

I knew when I ordered this barn door that it comes unassembled and basically requires you to build the door from the included knotty pine pieces. A simple look at the online assembly instruction manual reveals that assembly is required. The parts are pre-cut and the instructions clearly illustrate the assembly process so it's not exactly rocket science to put the door together. Fit and fiinish could be a lot better, but for the price you get a pretty nice-looking barn door for about 1/2 to 1/3 the cost of others I've seen on the internet. I gave this three stars because it does produce a usable barn door at a reasonable cost.
The box it comes in is quite long and heavy. UPS left it on my front porch and I needed a hand truck to move it into my garage. The installation instructions (also downloadable from homedepot.com) are a little more confusing than the door assembly instructions. Unfortunately, all of the dimensions for mounting the hardware are given in metric units. The 450 millimeter spacing of the mounting screws comes out to 17.7 inches which doesn't work well with standard 16 inch stud spacing common in the US.
We haven't actually hung our barn door yet because the place we intended to use it is not tall enough for the door and the hardware that goes above it. My solution for the non-US screw spacing would be to add a piece of 1-inch thick wood screwed into the actual wall studs and then mount the barn door rail to that wood strip. By the way, none of the mounting hardware is identified by name -- only by illustrations that indicate the quantity of each item. I don't how one would go about ordering replacements for any missing or damaged parts since they don't even have an alpha-numeric code for each kind of part.

CALHOME Coffee Brown Knotty Pine Finished Wood Barn Door with Bronze Bent Strap Sliding Door Hardware Kit comes with everything you need to assembly and then install the rail system and hang the door. You can put two together. Very similar to my grandfather's office barn door. It's heavier than I imaged, and impossible to hang on your own. The finish seems wiped on which is kinda labor intensive and its just a rich beautiful color and texture. I assembled the door no problem but will have to wait until my neighbor has time to help me hold one end of the rail up in place. I got it eight days ago and really wanted to get it done. The door assembly was quick enough. The holes were pre-drilled. I laid it out and arranged all the wood pieces in their place first. Clamped it in place and put the screws in, then I added the hangers to the door. Then you simply hang the door on the rail. Directions were detailed, had no trouble figuring out what to do. Everything was in the kit. I used a stud finder to locate my wall studs for the track placement. This is a real eye catcher, super pleased with it. I had never seen one before, for inside. This thing would be great to mount a dart board on or a hundred other additional uses besides looking very cool. Heavy duty, arrived in good shape, in fact, I made a video of me unpacking the materials, nothing is spoken after about 3 minutes, to save time, use the video player slider to fast forward and reverse so you can see for yourself the materials excellent quality. Love my new door.

UPS showed up with this door and with some doing got it out of the truck is in a box like 9" square and seven foot 6 inches long and right at 70 pounds.. Was pretty good packaging except for on inch & 1/4 black screw that were all over the inside of the box as the plastic bag was broken. Was all taped pretty good but when taking the tape off also takes a little of the finish with it. That is the worst part, also some areas did not have stain so would be nice to include small can with unit for touch up. When together nicely after I laid out and made sure all was correct then just install the screw. Put of you track on the wall then install the rollers to the door. hang the door install stops and track guide to the floor and ready to go. I have to go see if I can find matching stain for touch up but other than that all is great, works well and look good.

When I received the item, the box was slightly damaged. I was worried at first but later on as I inspected the product, it was in great condition. The quality of the wood and its paint did not disappoint me, I am satisfied with the product overall. It wasn't hard for me to install, I read the instruction prior to installation then follow along carefully afterwards.

Paid 240.00 and for that price it was well worth it. Would not have purchased this door for the current 449.00 listed. There are better quality barn doors out there for the same money. Putting it together was a little involved. Side "note" Read the "helpful note" sheet that comes with the instructions before you do any assembling. The holes do not line up out of the box. You must reposition the middle planks more than once to get the holes to line up.

The door came in with nearly every board split or seriously damaged. The finish is just stain, no lacquer or polyurethane sealant, which has left the boards dry and brittle. It also comes completely unassembled which means you then have to hire someone to put it together. Very disappointed in the product.

Purchased 2 doors to be used for barn doors. Boards are really warped and we are unable to get them aligned together when closed.
