The CAMO Hidden Deck Fastening System works on treated lumber, hardwood, cedar, composite or PVC deck boards. CAMO Hidden Fasteners, a CAMO Marksman tool, and CAMO Driver Bits combine to deliver a fastener-free deck surface at a price that makes getting the job easy and installing the deck even easier. The CAMO Hidden Deck Fastening System is engineered to work exclusively together, using other branded tools, fasteners or bits will impair performance and not produce the desired results.

Great question. Edge screws are a great option but you're going to want the Stainless Steel version for coastal areas. We don't have a pack like this one with stainless steel but you can buy the tool and fasteners separately. Thank you for your question! Yes, either tool will working with either lumber, composite, or grooved edge composite deck boards. However, industry standard does recommend the 3/16 in gap spacing for composite deck boards
On the board that is running closest to your house, you will want to face fasten that board. There really isn’t a good way to edge install that particular board.
Look for Cortex composite screws and plugs for your composite material. As the previous answer indicates face screw the cortex screws at each joist. They are depth controlled by the bit. Install matching composite plugs and they all disappear.
Yes. I surfaced my deck with Cedar tone pine and used the Camo screws. When I put them in they were sunk into the treads and do not show. So, you are also correct that since they are hidden the color of the screw doesn't really matter.
It doesn’t really work for stair treads. First reason is that you can’t get the tool in the proper place due to stringers (they are in the way). Second, the necessary over hang in the front doesn’t allow use of the camp tool as the screws will not reach the stringers.
Thank you for your CAMO question. Stairs can be installed similarly to the board abutting the structure (see installation instructions under "Info & Guides"), as long as the tread is completely covered by the deck board. Boards can also be installed with a face screw – we recommend using a 2-1/2” x #7 trimhead exterior screw if the boards are installed with that method. Yes they can. On my particular application though I used on CCA treated lumber. Expect shrinkage on your CCA lumber but with trex you want have this problem we’re I’ve used in past.
Thank you for your CAMO question. Yes, you absolutely can use the Marksman Pro tool and CAMO Edge Fasteners with these Trex boards. The 3/16 in. gap offered by the Marksman Pro tool is important when installing a synthetic deck board. Make sure you follow the CAMO installation instructions and proper building practices and you should be all set! Thank you for viewing this CAMO product! -Team CAMO
There are 875 screws in the box, I don't know about using a longer screw for the face screw.
Hello Ricua, thank you for your CAMO question. We would recommend the 2-3/8" screw for face screwing your boards that aren't able to be edge fastened. If you use our CAMO Edge screws to face fasten, you will need to pre-drill to effectively install. In the CAMO 875 Deckpac, there are 875 screws, 1 CAMO tool and 2 CAMO driver bits. Thank you for your CAMO question. When installing 5/4 pressure treated lumber (1" thick), we recommend using the CAMO 1-7/8" Edge Deck Screws. The 1-7/8" deck screws are designed for installing boards measuring 3/4" to 1" in thickness. If your deck boards measure more than 1" in thickness (1" to 1-1/2"), then we recommend you utilize the CAMO 2-3/8" Edge Deck Screws. Either length screw can be used with the CAMO Marksman Pro-X1 Tool. All the CAMO Marksman Tools will work with the CAMO Edge Deck Screws, regardless of screw length.
