Q:I am installing with 12?x24? tile using 1/8? joints. How do you recommend finishing the tile at the base. Grout, silicone or just lay tile to the base dry.

It was easy to cut to size and our plumber had no issue installing it. We sealed the top with 511 impregnator sealer and so far it’s holding up great!

Satisfied
Bought the pm to replace a tub. Feels sturdy and does not creak when using it (I am 200 pound). Happy with the look. Drain cover does not stay in. Kind of moves around and becomes dislodged. May attach with a weak adhesive of some sort to keep it from moving out of place. Overall, satisfied

Feels sturdy
We like this solid shower base! In our previous shower we had an acrylic base and it always felt cheap and constantly creaked. No danger of creaking with this one. It has a nice non-slip texture and drains well. Looks great and minimal with our bathroom design and seems like it will last a long time. It fits perfectly in our 60 inch alcove space. The dimensions say that it is exactly 60" long, but we found that it was just shy of that which saved us from having to modify it.

A pretty good option for walk-in shower
This has turned out to be a pretty good option for a shower pan and much better than one of the fiberglass shower bases. It’s super easy to install, you just use thin set and a 1/4 square notch trowel. You should use a Schluter ditra membrane below it and tie it into your shower wall waterproofing so the whole room is waterproof because the “flange” they give you with this base is garbage. I instantly broke the brittle plastic flange when trying to install so make sure the wall is waterproofed directly to the floor.

Defective Shower Pan
After watching the installation video multiple times, my contractor felt confident that this shower pan was perfect for my bathroom remodel. The shower base comes with small flange self tapping screws. The base split from the edge of the pan all the way to the drain as soon as one of the small screws was being inserted. Fortunately, Home Depot agreed that we received a defective product and gave us a refund. Re-ordered the same product. Will update review upon completion of the remodel.

Will not fit tub opening
I spoke with customer service and was told backer board goes on first, behind the shower base. If you are replacing a standard 60' bathtub, then the base will not fit without cutting it down. I wish they made this more DIY friendly.

We understand how updating an existing bathroom space can be a little tricky at times. The great thing about our products is that they can be trimmed up to 1.5” on each side.
