Questions & Answers

Why doesn't this cable have a input and output on cable ends.

Asked by: Steelwall
My experience with HDMI cables is that they are not designed with input and output ends. There may be exceptions. but I tried the 25 ft. length both ways and it worked with out any noticeable problems. Think of a drinking straw. It doesn't matter which end you put in the cup. There is, by the way, a top and bottom to the each end.

25 ft. Deluxe High-Speed HDMI Cable with Ethernet is rated 1.7 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lasted 5 months This cable lasted 5 months. Plugged it in one night and it just didn't work. Tried another cable. No problem. It's rated as an "In Wall" cable. Good darn thing I didn't install it in a wall.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works in any direction This HDMI cable ran between a AV receiver and a HD TV. It worked out of the box. First I tried the TV with a pass-through signal from a cable box and then with the receiver handling the cable signal. Neither had any problems. No instructions were included. Then I switched the cable around, out of curiosity, and it worked again without problems. So the cable has no directionality, at least in my setup. The cable I bought has a thick black insulator, more like a power cord, as opposed to the product photo, which appears to be some sort of weave. I will not install this cable in a wall.

I purchased this 25 ft cable to run from my DVR to my HDTV above my fireplace since it was the only cable offered in store. The cable seemed pretty heavy duty and very stiff. Any time I need to adjust my DVR box for any reason, the signal would go out to the TV. The end of the HMDI cable ended up bending at the connection. For how much this cable cost me and the thickness of it, I figured it would last longer. I have had the cable close to 2 years now. The free 6 ft long cable that came with my blu-ray player is better quality than this.

The cable itself was ok and seemed heavy duty but the plug in ends leave much to be desired. You will want a tv mount that moves and pivots. I was installing a new tv to a mount, tilted it into place and the end of the cable bent over into a 90*angle, and then the picture was askew. I bent the cable end back straight and taped it off so I could watch the tv and not buy a new cable

Due to a shipping error I needed another HDMI cable fast to mount in a wall so I could put a room I was remodeling back together, so I figured I'd just go to Home Depot up and pick up a cable so I could start on the drywall ASAP. Buuuut... after plugging in the cable and running it from my sound system to the projector it just didn't work, brand new and out of the package. When I plugged in directly into the Blu-ray play to the projector I could get a signal but I need the cable to work through my sound system. I tried a shorter 15' cable I had and ran it across the room and it worked fine, and I tried a few other cables which all passed through my sound system just fine but this cable didn't pass through for some reason. I really need a cable that works in the sound system as I get multiple video sources which all come into the sound system which should be able to send out the video signal to the projector. I will avoid any cables from CE TECH from now on.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not very strong Bought this to run from my comcast xfinity cable box to my LCD TV. I buried it in the wall as the TV is above the fireplace. It seemed well made, its a very heavy weight/gauge plastic cable, but when I plugged it into the cable box there was a little torque from the cables thickness. After a day of being plugged in the cable stopped sending the signal. I see now the actual connection between the molded back of the plug and the gold plated plug itself are not very well connected and so the cable broke a the joint under the small amount of pressure. I can apply upward pressure to the back of the plug when it is plugged in but thats the only way it now works. Just not great. Especially for $50 when many of the cables online are under $25 and just and durable. Disappointed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from appeared quality but no way to tell Cable may have been deluxe however we could not find out as it came with no instructions of how to use it or on which devices it was compatible. For general public some DIY guidelines would be helpful especially at this price point.
