Although "clamping voltage" is experimental, basically the product is designed to divert voltage above a set point, i.e.: on a 120v system the clamp point might be set at 130v. It is not clearly defined but presumably seeing a device that states a clamping rate of 750v means it can sustain a high over voltage without damaging the unit. but would divert the voltage at 130v. The manufacture can provide you with a more detailed explanation. Unless you are using the device to protect a highly sensitive piece of equipment I believe the produce is suitable.

My ce tech surge protector melted in the wall. The protector didn't work

I strongly suggest you check the wall outlet the CE Tech device was plugged into. If the melting occurred at the household service outlet, the surge protector would not have been activated. Check the wire connecting your household outlet. If the household wire is wrapped around a screw and held in place by a screw, that is the preferred safe method. If the household wire has been, slipped into a hole at the back or side of the receptacle, that method has been found to be unsafe, hence the melting of the outlet. Check with a local electrician if you are not familiar with working with electrical circuits. If you find that wire was slipped into the receptacle, you should have all your other outlets checked for safeties sake.

My suggestion would be to try a couple of the items that did not charge and plug, one at a time, them in again and leave the at least 8 hours. the battery may be completely dead.

Does the surge protector reflect the UL label on the item itself. Is it on the backside and visib...

I'm not sure about what it is you are asking, however UL is Underwriters Laboratory meaning that the specifications as to how the unit was manufactured means little more than the design is correct according to code, it is not in-it-self an endorsement. Under normal circumstances, an electrical surge is extremely rare on a Public Utility service. Unless you are experiencing problems with your electric service what ever you plug into the serge protector device should work satisfactorily. EXCEPTION, surge proctors not specially designed for electrical motors should never be used to connect anything with an electric. Another caution; do not plug high voltage draw or high amp (over 15 amps) items into any sort of extension cord, power strips included. If you need to plug heavy duty items into a power strip or extension cord, the power strip or extension cord should be suited (matched) to the item for which it is intended to be used.

It is perfect for my needs. The old power strip was a hazard and this even has USB ports. I love that the plugs are spaced wide apart! It holds all my electronic plugs plus more. I have it in a spot where there were only 2 plugs and it really extends the ability for more items to work. I have it tucked into a cabinet and out of the way.

It does the job, but is pricey. I like that there is room for large plugs on the face so plugging in something with a large plug doesn't block one of the limited outlets. I also like that the main plug is flat and angled downward so it saves space and again doesn't block outlets.
