Is the power cord that goes inside the wall CL rated?

Asked by: Nick
It's not an extension cord it's the same type of cable that is used for a power outlet installed by an electrician (Romex cable). It is absolutely in wall rated and meets all fire and electric codes.

TV and outlet in different locations

Can I use this product if my TV is mounted to the wall in one place, say in the middle of the room over the fireplace. I want to hide the cords and bring them to the left corner of the room; is it easy to do this or is it only feasible if the cords are going up and down from the tv?
Asked by: slapshot212
You can do a non-vertical install by doing the standard installation (NOT using the tube) however you are limited in length. The NM cord has molded outlets built into both ends of the cords. Then you have to figure out where the blockages are in the wall. I would recommend you have an electrician regular install outlets for you to be sure.

Reasonable price considering everything that's included but if you're a perfectionist who values your time you should look elsewhere. I spent nearly two hours installing this product and wasn't happy with the end result. The four plastic receptacles are cheap and the anchors that hold them against the wall are a joke. I ended up having to drill new holes in each and install additional anchors to make them flush against the wall

Rated 5 out of 5 by from slow down, measure twice, pay attention This is not a complicated install. It takes time, and the ability to be confident in what you're measuring. Think out what you want to do, slow down and breath, MEASURE TWICE then cut. If you aren't sure, measure a third time. You will have no trouble if you follow my advice. If you have insulation and it's getting in your way, pull it out, you aren't going to hurt anything pulling out insulation from one part of your wall. The problems people are having aren't related to this product, it's related to their inability to follow directions and process obstacles, they would fail at installing any in wall power cord system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Easy to install The hardest part was feeding the cables through and thats probably because I did not follow the cutting directions of the video because that did not make sense to me. I cut the length from bottom of top hole to top of bottom hole. The zig zag pattern of the tube caught each cable head while I was inserting. But it was totally worth the trouble. I have recommended this kit to two people so far that have asked "how did you hide the cables" and I'll continue to recommend. This 40 year old lady installed her 65 in all by her lonesome :D

Had problems trying to fit 24 inches of extra cable into the wall and be able to get the last box in the wall. Also my metal wall studs and or new drywall were about 1/8 of a inch to shallow so the boxes did not fit flush to the wall. My TV hade a 90 degree power plug that had trouble fitting into the box.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and clean! I liked that this included everything including the hole saw for cutting into drywall. Nice clean look. Installation video was good. Since there is only one outlet at the top, I plugged in a power strip and attached behind the wall mount, so I could plug in both TV and ROKU streaming device.

We couldn't find it in our "new" Home Depot so we ordered on-line with in store pick up and it worked out great. Would buy it again!
