how many watts it can max?...12000watts? or less.....thanks
Asked by: sammy
The plugs at both ends of the chord fit a 30A max plug or receptacle. V x A = Watts,.....so 30 x 240 = 7200 W. Period. End of discussion. How can folks say good for 12,000 W? If you have a larger generator that produces 12,000+ W of power, good chance it does NOT have the L14-30 ( notice "30") outlet or plug......you would need a "50" outlet and matching house receptacle rated at 50A ( 50A x 240V = 12,000W). Holy smokes.... get the numbers right or people will hurt themselves.

Does this cord come with the"male" end a three prong connection?
Asked by: Bob
No. It has a female connection on end and a male on the other, but they are no three prong. Google NEMA L14-30P to see what the four prongs look like.

Not sure wether i should go with 30 amp or 50 amp inlet box for this unit. 9200 running watts will run my entire home.

Need to order 1 or the other.
Asked by: Dan2814
Read your book, even the 10K watts at 120/240VAC max at 30 amp.
