Enjoy gardening with EMSCO Start Pickin' Raised Bed Grow Box. Made of UV-protected resin, the grow box is designed for durability and ease of use. It's small, 12 in. x 20 in. size makes it ideal as a seed starter or a small herb garden planter. This portable garden bed is ideal for homeowners with very limited space that wish to grow plants and vegetables, indoors or outdoors. Place this grow box on the deck, balcony, fire escape, window sill and other small spaces. Additionally, the Start Packing' automatically waters plants by wicking water from its water reservoir. Plants rest above an aeration screen to improve the flow of oxygen to their roots, promoting faster growth. You can use this in combination with the included mulch cover which also acts as a greenhouse cover for starting seeds. And, despite its small profile, it has a competent 10 in.       I have been using a larger version of this product for 5-6 years, and was pleased to see this off...
      I have been using a larger version of this product for 5-6 years, and was pleased to see this offered in a smaller size. This one is going to be tended to by my daughter, and she's very excited to have her own garden. I love that it has a small footprint, and yet should easily hold two rows of pea pods (her choice). I love that the watering system is easy, just add your water into the pipe, and it self waters, that you can move it around if need be, and that it comes with a weed cover. The weed cover is actually much nicer than it used to be, it now has a toggle that you can use to snug it now, not elastic like the previous one which died after a season. I do wish the weed cover was a little more reusable; on my larger one, it only lasted a year, and since you do have to cut it for the plants to grow, that's almost a given. There also aren't wheels on this unit, which is okay, because it's not as large, but it would;d be much more convenient. It is also recommended that you use potting MIX and vermiculite in it, but with my old one, I don't think I ever replaced it, I just turned it yearly, and I've had excellent results. Very much looking forward to using this once things get warmer.

      I have not seen them in this particular size before and because I have many of the larger sizes, I thought I would give this Patio Raised Garden Bed Grow Box kit with Self Watering System a try too. If you have a smaller area in which you have to place a planter this is ideal. Has all the bells and whistles the larger units have just a smaller version. I must say I love it equally as well as the larger ones as I have lots of space but because I have so many varieties of plants, I grow each year this is ideal for the hardier hot pepper plants and such as their root system is not huge like the tomatoes and such. I am very satisfied with this unit and as you can see by the pictures, I provided have many of the larger same varieties and love them year after year. All of which are available at my local Home Depot store too. Two green thumbs up on this dandy product I highly recommend it.

        Not holding up over time
        I loved these so much I have 8 of them over time! Unfortunately, 4 of the 8 containers are leaking from the bottom below the overflow opening. I live in the hot desert so having reservoir is a big plus. Because the containers are leaking, any water in the reservoir drains out leaving an empty water reserve which defeats the purpose of these purchases.
