Use of lubricants on Model Railroad track is controversial among modelers. It is a balancing act between better conductivity and reduced traction. I have a DCC system and consistent electrical contact is essential for smooth operations. A few drops of CRC 2-26 on the rails makes for a big improvement. It also helps with unreliable contact between delicate copper wipers and tiny wheels. Products are sold specifically for model railroad use, but in my experience 2-26 works better and is much less expensive.

WOW!
Bought a vintage stereo receiver from the 70’s, scratchy knobs and push buttons. Opened it up and used this stuff, let it dry overnight and it fixed every single issue, BLOWN AWAY! It’s magic. Don’t need much, used very little then pushed buttons in and out, turned knobs back and forth for a bit. There are videos on youtube if you need assistance. And it’s CHEAP! No need for that $9 one imo
