Needed extra cargo space for 95 Ford Aerostar full size...
Needed extra cargo space for 95 Ford Aerostar full size spare tire, that wouldn’t fit underneath the vehicle normally. The cargo rack was easy to install, and totally changed the look of the vehicle. Since I installed the cargo rack, we traveled over 3,200 miles this month and have seen at a dozen other vehicles with the same cargo rack.

Product was delivered pretty fast. The front plate of the roof rack was smeared. It looked like the paint was rubbing off. Installation was easy. However, the screws provided were of poor quality. The couldn't be torqued tightly without being stripped. Some of the holes were not the correct size, so the screws didn't fit. I'm not sure what kind of load this will handle.

Purchased this carrier with the extension as a low cost alternative to the higher end carriers costing from $600 - $900+.
The Good.
Lower cost. Looks good. Easy assembly. Easy mounting on existing roof bars.
Fairly solid.
The Bad.
Could have better quality hardware (bolts stripped easily). Missing hardware (1 bolt was missing). Could have better fabrication (2 of the threaded holes to assemble the front and rear portions of the rack together, stripped out easily). Could be better designed to fit square tube bars (The plastic supports that sit on top of the roof bars did not sit firmly against my square bar tubes) and I think could have been made of a better quality plastic or rubber.
Overall: I have only had this on for a month so time will tell. I would recommend this rack to anyone who is comfortable replacing hardware and drilling out stripped threads in an effort to have a lower cost rack. With just a little more effort on the part of design, quality control and material quality, this would easily have been a 5 star recommendation.

The assembly directions were difficult to follow.
The clamps that fasten the basket to the car roof racks have the ends of bolts that protrude up which can cause luggage to be damaged. These bolts & finger tight nuts would be best facing down. This also would allow clearance for tightening of the bolts when there are items in the carrier.

This thing seems strong enough but the wind resistance, even when not loaded, is unacceptable for me. If I were driving a vehicle, heavier and with more power and I didn’t care about fuel usage it would probably be okay.
