A:Â yes.Cleaning very well is always a must. When i bought this product 5 years ago, it said in the instructions that there is no sanding required. It also said that you could use it on laminated cabinets. I put on three coats with a smooth small roller. It has been over 5 years and still looks great.

A:Â Just clean and rinse very well.If there is any existing scratches or abrasions in wood, than you would want to lightly sand. But product adheres very well with proper drying time and 3 coats. Most latex based paints will dry to the touch very fast, but will take a good month to completely cure.

A:Â Previous commenter Julie has it right: cleaning is essential. But if you use TSP, take care to get any residue off, as it will lead to problems with most modern paints. I would add scuff sanding with 220 sandpaper and possibly a thin coat of Stix primer.

A:Â Did you degrease your doors and drawer fronts? If so, did you use a cleaner like TSP after degreaser? I would sand then reapply the paint.

Excellent cabinet paint
I have never painted cabinets before but I noticed my once white cabinets were dingy and needed refreshing. I used a 4 inch roller and a small paint brush. After lightly sanding the edges, removing pulls and taping off the hinges, I painted the boxes, then inside doors and finally the front of the doors. The paint goes on well and no streaks or drips. I’m happy!

Wonderful finish with a brush. No fumes at all. I am using it to refinish my kitchen cabinets. I sprayed the hinges with metallic paint and bought new handles. I am loving my new kitchen! This is a great product in my book.

I purchased a quart of this paint for a bathroom vanity project. The paint is thick and goes on well with a soft brush, and it dries to a smooth finish. Very happy with this product, although it is on the expensive side. You get what you pay for.

I was very pleased with the results. I would definitely recommend this paint. It gave my 1990’s oak cabinets a new look. I Wish I would have done this years ago.

I used this paint about five years ago and my cabinets still look great. The only problem I've had is that the edge of the drawers have worn out and needs to be touched up I brought a quart but ended up using two. I suggest buying a gallon. You will have plenty of paint with some left over.

My white thermofoil cabinets failed(peeled).
Removed all thermafoil, sanded, 2 coats kilz 2, then 3 coats of Cabinet Coat. Cabinets look better than the original!. Paint goes on easy and levels itself. I used a 4 in foam roller.

3-Coat Paint
Did a lot of research before deciding to go with this cabinet (wood furniture) paint. Checked all the categories: fast drying, no brush marks/self-leveling, and possibly 1-coat coverage (maybe 2). *[A] Brush strokes show; [B] definitely takes THREE coats (4th coat if you got the time, would be perfect); [C] ordered online (not sold in stores)
