will this work for my forced air furnace?

No. This is for electric baseboard and some electric wall mounted heaters.

Hi Steve, it cannot run up to that temperature, the highest it will go up to is 86F therefore you will need a different thermostat with a higher range. Contact the pro desk for better help or call us at 855-223-3887.

You can't keep both controls. When I installed mine I had to rewire the unit. If you have a unit with a control, the wall thermostat will replace that. I don't know if you have a blank end-cap to replace it with, but if you don't, you could probably just take out the control on the end-cap you have and it will just show a small hole. I bought a high gauge electrical in wall line and let one of the two wires go to the wall thermostat and the other come back from the wall thermostat. That way your just running one high gauge wire to your wall thermostat. Does that make since to you. Your just kind of splicing this thermostat between the normal wiring that comes out of your wall from your circuit box. From the wall, one of the 240v wires will go to your baseboard and the other will go to and from the wall thermostat to your baseboard. High power baseboard heaters take two hot wires, thus the 240v. The power will only work when the Wall Thermostat is in operation. Hope that helps.

Can I wire this thermostat to a outlet to control space heater?

Yes it is possible however it will affect other outlets on that circuit. The only way that you could do it to control a space heater is if you have a dedicated circuit.(if that is the only outlet on that circuit)

Answer

JT, This will be a good replacement as long as each thermostat is controlling 3,200 watts or less of heat. Based on what we can tell from your description, when installing the new thermostat, you should connect whatever wires were connected to the white thermostat wire together with a wire nut, then connect the other thermostat wires as suggested in the Owner's Manual for the new thermostat. If you're seeing something else or need any other help, please reach out to us at (855.223.3887)

I can't answer the question as to a pellet stove. I did buy one of the Cadet thermostats for use with two Cadet baseboard heating units and it works perfectly with them.

This Cadet TH106 thermostat is a huge improvement over the standard dial thermostats typically used with baseboard and wall-fan heaters. Besides being programable it also provides a much more consistent temperature in the room(s) it controls. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because of limited programming options and poorly written instructions regarding how to store your own preferred temperature settings. IMPORTANT: Be sure to pay attention to its maximum combined heater wattage limits.

We are on our second one of this thermostat. The first one would run for 2 minutes and off for 2 minutes. Tech support determined it was defective and sent us a second one. Now we cannot get it programmed to keep the correct temp. As far as I am concerned these are a piece of junk. Sadly this is the only thermostat rated for 4000 watts. I think where this is rated for maximum load of 16.7 A and the heater is listed at 16.67 A it does not take into consideration of the resistance of the wire feeding the heater.

Hi, the heater should run good with this thermostat unless you have it on the wrong mode, look at the instructions on how to change the internal dip-switch from baseboard to fan forced heater or call us if it doesn't work right 855-223-3887, and by the way a small difference of 0.03A or 30mA wouldn't cause this to malfunction.
Go with the Honeywell, not the Cadet.
The Honeywell products fit more applications than Cadet. Cadet if used, isnt returnable or refundable for misapplication.

I bought this thermostat to replace an older model. First I had problems programming it. When I finally got it figured out (somewhat-couldn't figure out how to change the default setting from 70 degrees to 68). Then after several weeks it just stopped working all together. When I removed it a wire was burned. Scary! Could be that I wired it wrong? However, I successfully installed another model several months prior without burning down the house. Returning to the unprogrammable model. Also noticed when I got the product it said Honeywell on it. I thought I was purchasing Cadet.

Hi Diane, the thermostat is made by Honeywell to use with our heaters, that model the TH106 can handle up to 4000W so unless you have more that that it should be able to handle it, melted wires is from overloading the circuit or air gaps in the connectors.
