I am replacing old one that has a knob, is that actually a thermostat that could be used with the new heater? This is pic of old heater.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Now Absolutely Silent Very pleased with this unit (heater + "BTF" thermostat). When first installed, it was making some minor noise, especially when first turned on or off. I widened the mounting holes into horizontal slots, and installed some high-temperature silicone 'shims' (1/8" thick, cut into approximately 1" x 3" vertical strips) between the unit and the wall at each mounting location to allow some play. Also made sure not to overtighten the screws connecting it to the wall. Have used it for months now and it is *absolutely silent* all the time, even on start-up and shut-down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 4 ft. Cadet Electric Baseboard Heater This is one of a few Cadet baseboard heaters I've purchased from Home Depot. These heaters work quite well, especially if your building is insulated. These heaters are easy to install and wire. I feel they are quite a bargain and free shipping make the deal a bit sweeter. I would recommend using a wall mounted thermostat with these heaters for ease of use, and avoiding the bend down on multiple heaters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product ! Sturdy, great finish, durable & quality made. I love this heater. I bought another brand that I hate. It rusted so fast & the metal was so thin that it dented just looking at it. I HIGHLY RECOMEND THIS HEATER !!! You can beat the powder coat finish. It looks good & very easy to keep clean.
