Questions & Answers

Does this heater have a high/low switch & can it be mounted in a 2x4 wall?

Asked by: Anonymous
It has a thermostat dial that allows you to adjust through a range. I don't know the temperatures in that range. The fan speed can not be adjusted. It is either on or off depending on the temperature setting. It can be mounted in a 2x4 wall.

How does it compare with other heater systems in terms of the cost, like electric oil heater, water heater, and gas heater?
Asked by: Jifan
This is a small 110 electric wall heater. We use it to get the bath warmer when showering. Also keeps the mirrors fro stamping up. As far as a heating system, electric, especially 110, is about as inefficient as you can get. Occasional use is reasonable.

plug in?

can it be plugged into a regular electric outlet
Asked by: Suzyanne
It's designed to be hard-wired. If you're installing it on a wall behind which there's an unfinished wall, like my utility room, you could rig up a cord with a plug for an outlet in that room, but you'd have to check with your locals to see if that's code-legal.

is it hard to install

Asked by: toni
Ease of installation depends on two things: how adept the user is with basic electrical wiring, and access to an existing electric circuit or the main breaker box. If you're installing it on a floor above an unfinished basement it's a simple matter of drilling through the floor (don't mount it too high) and running the wire down into the basement. From there, access to another line or the breaker box will be easy. Also, you need to know where the wall stud is, since the box it mounted to the wall stud.
