Any line voltage that can work on 240V and handle 2000W, I would recommend the TH114 or TH115.

This 2250W is about as big as they get. Check your wiring and breakers though. If you're increasing from 1600W to 2250W, it may not be safely sized for a higher wattage.

The squirrel cage fans are quieter than blade fans. It depends what you are comparing to.

Can this be installed with an existing bimetallic in-line thermostat?

Asked by robert March 8, 2018

Answer

Hello, thank you for your question! Yes this can be installed with an existing line voltage thermostat as long as it's rated for 240 volts and at least 6.7 amps.

It's very off-putting when they hide the price.

Asked by jnstrawn October 30, 2017

Answer

Hi jnstrawn, the price isn't "Hidden", you simply need to click on "Add to Cart to See Price" as the price listed is below the manufacturer's suggested retail price. If you don't want to purchase the item, you can remove it from your cart. If you are still not able to see the price or add the item to your cart, the item may no longer be available for purchase on Homedepot.com. Thanks for shopping Home Depot!

what are the best options for thermostat and register cover

Asked by Mjz December 8, 2016

Answer

Hello, thank you for your question! For best accuracy and efficiency, we would recommend a digital wall thermostat for your heater. A good recommendation is model TH114 rated to handle a maximum 3600 watts at 240 volts. The register covers can be purchased separately for replacements, please see link below. If this is a new installation and you need the complete unit (wall can, grill, and heater assembly) please see second link below. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-Register-Series-Replacement-Grille-Kit-in-White-RMGW/202865632 http://www.homedepot.com/p/Cadet-Register-Multi-Watt-240-Volt-In-Wall-Fan-Forced-Heater-in-White-RMC162W/100025376?keyword=rmc162w

If you're able to add a circuit breaker to your electrical panel on your own, this is an easy install. It took me a minute to wrap my head around installing a two pole 20 amp breaker with 12 gauge wire (always ran 240V with larger gauge), but that is all these heaters require in the amperage department, and 12 gauge wire is rated for 600 volts... so it is cheap and easy to run the wire. I put in the Cadet TH114 Digital Thermostat with it, and it works beautifully. The room holds a far more even temperature, rather than up and down with hot and cold. My family thinks the unit is quiet- certainly more than any space heater with a fan. The heater feels like a quality unit. It is well thought out- everything works together well; knock outs where they should be, room in the can for the wires, mounting screws and holes where they should be, etc. I'm about to order the identical set up for another bedroom. Also, I was concerned about just how cold it might get here in Montana and how I might handle it if I needed more heat (even though this unit throws a lot). I called tech support and spoke to Jordan (connected instantly, and he spoke English). The end result of that conversation is a great solution, if I need it- I can simply add another, smaller unit in parallel off the heater I just installed- so long as I stay beneath the rated watts/amps. That would be two heaters off one thermostat in a room. So I have some peace of mind now if I do need more heat due to a -20F winter. Overall I'm really happy with everything about this unit. Side note- the grill does get hot, as you would expect from a 2,250 watt heater, so if you have little ones they need to not be touching it.

As expected. Used this new one to replace an old old. Old one lasted ~15 years... which in fact replaced a prior one. Glad they have kept the unit reverse compatible with the wall can. Hope the thermal fuse circuit has been tested and proven out (different than my prior unit). For the money... still appears to be a great choice.
