Can I install more than 1 unit on the same electric wire. Can I daisy change 2 of them

Asked by: GBW
Loaded question: First the following information need to be obtained. Breaker size and wire size. Also what size heaters are you installing. For example this heater draws 1250 watts. Different lengths will have different wattage. Typically electric baseboard are 220 volts, double pole 20 amp breaker, and is 12 awg wire. NEC. Allows you to load a break 80%. For a 20 amp breaker 16 amps. So in this case 220 volts x 16 amps = 3520 watts. So a 20 amp double pole breaker at 220 volts on 12 awg wire can be be loaded up to 3520 watts. So back to your question, can two 1250 watts heater be daisy chained. 2500 watts (1250 ×:2) is less than 3520 watts. So in this case yes, two heaters can be daisy chained.

What does Left Hand Wire mean? Also, do you have to use a Cadet brand thermostat with this purchase?

Asked by: BK
Left hand wire just refers to which end of the heater the wiring comes out of. No you dont have to use their thermostat but I did and am very happy with them.

can this heater stand on its own and does it have a thermostat/

Asked by: Anonymous
The heater must be secured to the wall studs with two # 10 pan head type screws. A remote thermostat (recommended) or installed on heater end is required and not supplied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good purchase Got rid of my old baseboard heaters. The house is nice and warm again. The heat is very even and pleasant. The product was made in the USA, something that is important to me. Very pleased with purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from No installation holes, brackets, etc. This unit is exceptionally good looking. It was packed well and was shipped to my house without any problem. Wiring was simple as could be. My only gripe is that they didn't provide any mounting brackets, screws, or templates. I think this is by design, but they could have at least included two screws. I ended up drilling two holes into the back of the unit and running screws into studs. It was a minor inconvenience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Balanced Heat - Way less dust!! I have electric heat throughout my house. I began to replace my 45 year old electric registers with Cadet SoftHeat a few years ago. I like the smoothing out of heat/cold curve and the lack of dust. I have noticed my energy usage has dropped as well, but I can't solely credit that to Cadet as I've also replaced the thermostats for the units as well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick and easy installation. Home delivery a big help. This heater is a simple and efficient drop-in replacement for an existing heater and would be an easy installation for new construction. It operates silently and provides even heating for a 200 sq. ft. kitchen. I plan to buy another for the master bedroom but will have to special order the right hand wired model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great value This product is very energy efficient. If you go with the next size bigger based on the square footage you will have to adjust your thermostat down due to the extra oil being heated. Overall very happy with this baseboard heater
