Contemporary 15-Piece Self-Sharpening Knife Set with Storage Block

A:  Thank you for your interest in our Calphalon products. Our Utensils, Bakeware, Electrics and Kitchen Gadgets are produced overseas in China. But the materials used are still in Ohio they are only assembled overseas. We understand that some of our consumers are particular with the origin of the items they purchase but regardless of where our items are manufactured, we make sure to maintain the quality Calphalon is known for through constant tests and product checks.

A:  Yes, they are made in China.

A:  There are two empty slots. Upon opening the box, it states the option to buy a 2 piece breakfast set that includes a 3 1/2 parer and tomato/ bagel knife to complete the set. Including the wooden block, there are a total of 15 pieces.

A:  I just purchased this 15-pc set; received it today. There are, in fact, two open slots in the block. The box that the set came in indicates you can complete your block with a 2-piece Breakfast Set, which consists of a small Parer and a Tomato/Bagel knife. However, I've been searching online for this Breakfast Set to no avail. It never occurred to me that there would be open slots in the block. I'm a little disappointed. I have emailed Calphalon directly for their assistance in finding the Breakfast Set; we'll see what they say. Other than that, the knife set looks very nice. I'm anxious to put it to use.

A:  No, there are two empty slots. I thought I was missing two knives until I read that there were 15 items. This included 13 knives, a pair of scissors, and the holder.

A:  No, there are empty slots. Calphalon offers other knifes in the collection.

A:  The knives are made of German steel, although the paperwork states that the steak knives are made of "Asian steel". There is a sticker on the bottom of the block that says "Made in China".
