Rated 4 out of 5 by from Grills surprisingly well The thing that impresses me about this grill is how well behaved it is. That's mainly because the Camp Chef burners are so powerful that you tend to grill with the burners on almost the lowest setting. (I suspect the people who complained about the paint coming off are used to firing up the heat to full blast as a self-clean cycle. Don't do that! It isn't necessary, and you get much better results by treating it the way you would a kitchen pan.) The one thing where I mark it down is that it can flare up like crazy when cooking things with a lot of drippy fat, like skin-on chicken or high fat hamburger. When cooking those, a lower burner setting is called for to avoid a conflagration, but the good news is that the Camp Chef cooker will actually go that low! (Unlike my old grill, where the lowest setting was still way too hot.) You still get that good smoky flavor as the fats are vaporized on the heat diffuser. I like the removable cast-iron grates. The factory seasoning is good at keeping things non-stick for most items (though barbecue or teriyaki sauce, anything with sugar in it, is always likely to carbonize no matter what you do). I like to wipe on some cooking oil during the preheat, which helps with sticking and with cleanup after dinner. I make a point of taking the grates out every time after grilling, and washing them like a regular pot. It keeps them clean and working like new. Since the grates come in two pieces, they fit in the sink for washing, which I like. Wipe on a bit of cooking oil after washing to keep the seasoning in good shape and keep them from rusting while stored. I was skeptical of this modular system when I read about it -- how can circular burners put out even heat over a 16x24 surface? -- but I have been pleasantly surprised. It works much better than I expected. I now own the Barbecue Box, the Pizza Oven, and the two burner Steel Griddle. I also have the one-burner steel griddle that came with the Denali Pro 3X stove. All of them work surprisingly well, and I love how you can combine multiple elements on the three burner Camp Chef cooker., such as barbecuing fajitas on the grill while sweating onions and peppers on the one-burner griddle, or grilling hamburgers while griddle-toasting the buns. I've grilled steak, chicken (boneless-skinless and bone-in), pork loin chops, kebabs, corn on the cob, hamburgers, lamb burgers, salmon, shrimp, and asparagus. I like this system so much, I've been doing a lot more cooking this summer, which makes the family happy.

This is the first time having a Expedition 3x burner and using the Stainless Steel Barbecue grill. It worked Great! I used it for grilling Chicken breast and hot dogs, without any over done char marks on the food. I'm very happy with the results.
