Cap A Tread Type 2 is a durable laminate with pre-attached stair nosing. For non-standard stair treads made of 2 in. x 10 in. lumber. For updating carpeted or worn out stairs. Easy glue down installation. Cost effective way to add value to your home.
- Cap A Tread adds character to your stairs, product visuals are designed to closely coordinate with flooring as there may be slight color and texture variation
- Durable laminate with pre-attached stair nosing designed for non-standard stair treads made of 2 in. lumber

Best product ever!
Had nasty carpet on the stairs, and didnt want that again. Found this product and couldn't be happier. We had to cut down the stair nosing to get this to fit properly, but i love, love, love my stairs now.

Easiest Stair Upgrade Ever
Simplest way to transform the look of stairs. Needed a DIY and time saving solution after removing carpet from the stairs. Wasn’t sure if it would work so ordered a few first to try out. Cut and fitted the pieces and it already looks beautiful! Saratoga Hickory. It is made of an engineered wood, and it is smooth unlike the distressed look of the floor planks, so minus 1 star there. Best for an area that stays dry. I love it and would chose this again if I had a similar project.

Nice tread option for Applewood flooring
Nice products for stairs. It created consistency with my Applewood flooring. And it is is very easy for installation. I did myself for 15 stairs in my house. It is beautiful.

Maybe first cap was just a flaw--- new one works perfectly
Used this for our open second-floor landing where we had installed Pergo Marigold Oak flooring in the hallway and master bedroom. This was an easier option to cover the open lip of the landing than the complicated options offered by Pergo. However, the first cap we installed developed a bubble in the middle of it after everything had been installed & put back together. It didn't develop immediately, but about 2 weeks later. Hubby wasn't a happy camper, as it required him taking everything apart again...which involved a complex stair rail & balusters. But, the replacement piece seems to be in perfect condition without further bubbles developing....at about 3 weeks & counting.
