        Color not as shown
received the sample I ordered of essential oak. Not what I thought it would be. It would be so helpful if Home Depot would have a sample card at the store. Now I may have to order possibly two more samples to find the best color and then return the two losers.

The only reason I would recommend this product is because there really aren't any other options for luxury vinyl for stairs. It didn't come in nearly the number of colors that the flooring does so I had to guess and hope whatever I chose matched. (The manufacturer, Zamma, wouldn't even recommend a matching piece). That turned out ok but now, like any other hard surface for stairs, the tread cap is slippery so I need to get some type of anti-slip tread cover or runner. I have been in contact with Zamma for suggestions as to what would be safe to use, since certain anti-slip material (rubber and latex) will discolor the vinyl. The customer service reps have been helpful with certain questions but absolutely no help with this issue (anti-slip) and in fact, the "installation manager" had a quite snarky response to my email and told me the only solution is to simply not wear socks and it shouldn't be an issue because I don't slip in the middle of the regular floor and it's the same material. Also, he noted this is a "want" rather than a "need"! Um, no I need to not fall down the steps! The Cap-a-tread is actually more slippery than the flooring and common sense tells anyone that going up and down stairs is not the same as walking on a flat floor...if it were, falling down stairs in socks wouldn't be a problem for anyone! So, basically, the answer is just don't wear socks on these things. Good luck if you have kids or pets that you're trying to keep safe because they will slip! The "experts" in the store at Home Depot have little to no knowledge of their products and had never even heard of Cap-a-tread when I asked about it early in the project. Unbelievable.
