The CAPRI 1/4 inch industrial straight die grinder came packaged in a very sturdy box, which I appreciated. The outside has a black textured coating, which is oil and skid resistant. It also has a heavy duty spring operated safety lock on the trigger. It is very balanced and has low vibration. It can be used for cutting, sanding, polishing, and grinding. I used it to sharpen my lawn mower blades. It was easy to use and only took me about thirty minutes. This is a very high quality versatile tool. I highly recommend it.

I've been using this with some carbide burrs to do a bit of power carving on oak. So far, it's been working quite well for me, powerful enough to eat up the wood at a fairly fast clip. The handle/trigger mechanism takes a bit of getting used to--it's rigged with a safety lever in a fairly unintuitive way--you've got to flip the safety lever forward with your thumb in order to depress the trigger. But once it's running it's not too uncomfortable. The only thing that gives me some pause about this tool is that the metal cover that keeps the insides inside spun right off after about 30 minutes of use. Nothing catastrophic, and I was able to screw it back on easily, but I'm a bit worried about how that bodes for the long term durability of the tool.
