Versatile quality tool
I have used wire cutters to strip wire. It takes time and often nicks the wire. As I recall the electrical code does not allow nicked wire, so sometimes I have to do the job twice. This stripper does the job almost perfectly. The photo shows an nearly imperceptible scratch when I stripped the wire in two parts. I'm sure it would pass code. The cutter has settings for numerous wire gauges and can even cut small machine screws. I tried to cut a plastic coated clothes line with a stranded steel wire core. The wire resisted and even nicked the cutting edges of this tool. I will not try that again. If I stick to copper wire, this tool will last a lifetime.

I was a little skeptical at first when I received this professional wire stripper when I noticed that it was made by a company I was not familiar with. After feeling the cushioned contoured grips and using this stripper on several gauges of wire I was impressed with the quality. The stripping slots are precisely made to strip multiple gauge wire cleanly and the markings are easy to read. The contoured handles also make shearing screws used for receptacles, etc. very easy. I am curious to see what other tools that CAPRI tools manufacturers.

Excellent Value for a Great Tool – Beware of packaging
The Capri Tools Professional Wire Stripper/Cutter (Model 20013) is a virtual twin to the name-brand model usually aimed at professional electricians – but for half the price. It's made in Taiwan for those who need to know, but there is an ERROR on the packaging. In two places (front and rear) it indicates it strips wire as small as 24 gauge. It does not – the smallest it's made for is 22 gauge stranded wire (as it states elsewhere on the package and on the tool). Notwithstanding that error, it's extremely comfortable to use, particularly for right-handed users, and the lock button is perfectly placed for activation by the right thumb (see photo). It cuts almost any common size copper electrical wire, at least up through 8 gauge, and strips 10-20 gauge solid and 12-22 stranded. As an added, and EXTREMELY useful feature, it cuts the two most common size screws used in residential electrical work – the 6-32 and 8-32 screws used to install outlets and switches into boxes and secure outlet/switch plates. As it turns out, the 8-32 is also the size used on most cabinet hardware (pulls and knobs) so you can trim those screws to fit thin drawer boxes or doors. Those bolt-cutters are normally only found on much higher-priced strippers. The only improvement I would add is to indicate that the screws to be cut should be threaded into the side with the bolt sizes printed (as shown in photograph). If you do it the other way it leaves a rough edge on the thread, which might not screw into the mating nut. This tool doesn't have all the fancy features of top-of-the-line tools, such as crimpers and a wider bolt-cutting range, but it weighs just 5 ounces, compared to 8 ounces for my more capable name-brand tool. It will almost certainly meet the needs of most home DIYers, and at only $10 it's a bargain!

Good strippers
These work pretty good so far. I have used them to install 2 light fixtures and they seem to cut the wires easily and strip the wires good. They are lightweight and strong. These are my home use strippers so they will probably last a while. They seem to be pretty durable but I haven't dropped them yet. Pretty happy with them so far and depending how long they last will buy them again.

Excellent wire stripper
This wire stripper and cutter is not only comfortable to use but is made of good quality. The metal stripping section appears to be strong and well-made and the handles are coated with a cushioned silicone that makes these comfortable to hold and use. This stripper has a cutting section for stripping wire from 10 to 22 gauge wires, a screw cutter for 6-32 and 8-32 screws, and a serrated end for pulling and bending wires. The strippers warn against cutting anything other than copper wire as steel wire will damage the blades. The stripper has a small flip out thumb lock that keeps the strippers closed when not in use. The slightly curved handle helps for leverage and makes it comfortable to hold. So far I have found this stripper to work well with electrical projects around my home. The stripper is backed with a 10 year warranty.
