Q:Recently ordered a similar Carhartt coat in large. It came and the inside tag said Relaxed fit. It was way too big for me. Now I have to ship it back. Is this regular or relaxed fit? Seemed really well made.

Might as well not wear it at all...
Very disappointed in this "rain" jacket. I bought it for work around the farm during storms...I am as wet after wearing this jacket as I would be if I didn't wear one at all.....and if I wear it in anticipation of a storm, I'm soaking wet from sweating because of it's inability to breath.
Proper application for use...
STEP ONE: TAKE RAIN COAT OUR OF PACKAGE

Very disappointing
Bought this jacket to walk in the rain at work. First day I took it out on a light rainy day and it was damp inside within 20 minutes of being out. Extremely disappointed as this jacket is not cheap and is advertised as a rain jacket. It's even funny that it's called a "Storm Defender" and can't even keep my dry in 20minutes of light rain. Will return ASAP.

Great style, may not keep you dry for long
I had high hopes with this jacket. I love Carhartt clothing and am very brand loyal, so when I needed a rain coat, I decided to purchase this one. I wore the jacket maybe 2 times in the rain before I noticed water was seeping into the jacket. On a 10 minute walk in average rainfall, The neck / shoulder area was beginning to soak with water. I don't know if this is a one-off thing, as it seems others have not had this experience, but I was honestly disappointed. I give it 3 stars because I enjoy the styling of the jacket - but in terms of functionality (keeping me dry), it did not fair so well.

De-lamination...not good
I really liked it and it worked great UNTIL it started to de-laminate along the collar and the pockets. Not good.

I live in central Texas and we are in a serious drought. I have owned this jacket for 1 year and worn it 3 or 4 times and it has begun delaminating in the hood. Terrible quality. Carhartt has never failed me until now.

just got mines in, very nice jacket but what caught e my attention was the orange pull strings for the pocket, MINES WAS ALL BLACK ? i say that so say it the jacket they sent me was all black strings im very picky i know but thats what caught me eye for the jacket the orange stood out well to me.

Very well built and versatile jacket. Does what it says on the tag. No complaints
I live in Canadian praries where Rain is scarce, but as they say, when it rains it pours. This jacket seems up to the task, keeps me dry and comfortable, no sweating the heat escapes yet water drips right off. The hood visor is great and the inside zipper pocket is perfect for a phone. My only problem is i wish it was abit thicker, maybe 5oz. But that’s just me being nitpicky, it looks great and slick in the city yet is tough enough to withstand the woods. 10/10

Meh...
Calling this jacket waterproof rainwear is generous at best. I work outside all day, every day. Several hours in light to moderate rain and it's soaked and so am I. I picked up the matching pants to go with the jacket and am just as unimpressed. Disappointing to say the least. I've always loved Carhartt products but these don't live up to reputation.

The Quality that I expected from Carhart
Perhaps a little larger than I expected, that will make it easier to fit over a bulky sweater.
Got a chance to wear it in a decent rainstorm and it kept me dry.
It's the quality of clothing that I have come to expect from Carhart, so I am pleased.

Fits good, but no rain protection
I ordered this jacket so I could still take my walks during the rainy season in Japan. I wore the jacket for the first time this morning and it was definitely not designed to withstand the rain. Getting back soaked after my walk wasn't so bad considering I was out for some exercise. However, if I had been wearing this on my way to work, I would have been pretty upset. The jacket looks decent and fits well, but should not be mistaken for a rain coat.
