A: Nope it requires a 1/4" to a 3/4" plate such as drywall to clamp on to it. There is a metal junction box which has a clamp that can reach around the thicker cinder block webs to secure to it. Look for Home Depot Store SKU # 910597 This will do the job!

A: It’s not outdoor rated so you run the risk of moisture getting in. When it comes to electrical it’s worth the couple extra bucks to get the outdoor rated boxes.
