Initial impressions are very good - the fan works well, and is pretty silent even at higher speeds. I have a slanted ceiling and the extensions are VERY small so plan on getting a longer extension if you don't have a totally flat ceiling. I bought this particular fan because of the expected long-term reliability. I can't say at this early juncture if that will be true, but so far, so good

Darned good fan
Whisper quiet and moves a lot of air. We like the remote control and are very satisfied with this product. Probably the best fan we’ve ever bought and I’d get another one if we need it.

Everything I Expected.
This fan was very easy to install. It is totally quiet and wobble-free. It moves a lot of air. The remote is a nice feature.

Removing the existing fan was much more difficult than installing the new fan. The new fan runs great - very quiet.

Wired-in Wall Control Requires Batteries To Operate Fan
Bought this to replace a Casablanca Ceiling Fan that died after 29 years. This new fan requires batteries in the Wall Control (not the Remote, which can be purchased separately) IN ORDER TO OPERATE THE FAN, even though the Wall Control is wired in (the wiring of the Wall Control only powers the "power" button on the Wall Control; the batteries power everything else - such as fan speed and reversing the fan). To replace the batteries in the Wall Control, you have to first TURN THE POWER OFF TO THE WALL CONTROL (though the instructions don't specify that), remove the Wall Control switch plate cover, unscrew and pull out the Wall Control box in order to access the battery compartment that's BEHIND the Wall Control box (which is why I'd turn off the Power to the Wall Control). I mistakenly thought the batteries were only needed if you purchased the separate Remote. So inconvenient to replace batteries; who wants to have to essentially disassemble and pull out the box/wiring of the Wall Control when you have to replace batteries in order to operate the fan? Regretting my decision in choosing this fan.
