This 36 in. island mounted range hood offers quality air ventilation in a stylish design. This range hood from Cavaliere's European series features a 900-CFM motor, six speed settings, touch sensitive control panel with LCD display on both sides and delayed power auto shut off for convenient use during day-to-day cooking. The decorative chimney is telescopic to fit variable dimensions, and this unit can also be converted with available re-circulating kits. The full stainless steel construction of this range hood, along with the European design, make it the perfect choice for ventilation and decoration above a modern kitchen island.
- Convertible island mount range hood can be installed as venting or non-venting with the use of an optional (separately purchased) re-circulating kit for ductless
- 2 touch sensitive control panels with LCD displays (one accessible on each side) let the user adjust the fan speed, the light setting, the delayed power auto shut off (programmable 1-15 minutes) and the 30 hours cleaning reminder

No it did not meet my expectations, the box was...
No it did not meet my expectations, the box was not fully packed it was missing All documentation instructions warrantee information there was nothing in the box relating to that. Secondly it was supposed to come with a lower metal vent cover and a bracket to mount to the ceiling Not in the box.

I had a contractor install this hood for a remodel in 2012. It has never really worked.
The hood typically runs for about 5 minutes, then the lights start flickering, and finally both the fan motor AND lights go out. This happens even if the stove is NOT turned on. If the hood is allowed to rest for a few hours, it may be possible to turn in on again but it will still go off after a few minutes of operation.
On some days it is impossible to turn on either the fan OR the lights.
This sort of problem is typical of modern appliances that use electronic controls instead of mechanical switches. If the electronics are not dead on arrival, they soon will be thanks to high heat, moisture, corrosive salts, etc getting in.

Beautiful design. Suction could be better, even at highest speed. Three cheers, though, for manufacturer customer support, which guided us through a simple, no-cost, no-tools, 5-minute fix on a malfunctioning light and flaky fan.

Outstanding
Have owned this unit for eight years, not a single problem. It sucks quietly, it's heavy duty, have no issues cleaning the stainless. The buttons are "Touch Sensitive", meaning you don't have to mash the _ell out of them, just touch them. If mashed at an angle the buttons will jam leaving the lights going through their dim cycle, it's all there in the manual. 900 CFM will handle a lot especially if rigid ducting is used in accordance with the recommended pipe diameter, run, and number of turns.

Not what I thought I'd get.....
Lights are insufficient and regularly blink off. Suction is very weak. Stainless quality is poor and unable to clean residue from installation.
