BTU

Would you please tell me how many BTU are required to heat a 1,100 square foot house?
Asked by: Jim
Hi Jim, I am not a professional, but if you ask professionals they will always give you vague answers which would depend on lots of factors. Best way to get your answers is to post it on Doityourself forums where people tell to help themselves. My best starting point(i am not sure if it is possible with you) is to check the make, model and specifications of your current Hot Air Furnace and try to match it that way. I am also in your same boat. Good Luck my friend...cheers...Kumar

What does it cost to have a furnace installed?
Asked by: MLD1030
I am sorry but I can not answer the question from the info provided. There is no correlation between square footage of floor space and heat required. For example a 1000 square feet in Alaska is going to need a vastly different amount of heat than a 1000 square feet in Florida. Sizing heating equipment involves doing a heat loss calculation, where the amount of heat a structure looses on the coldest our of the coldest day of the year is determined. It is done based on geography, size and construction type etc. As to the labor cost, There again I don;t have enough info to make a guess. Geography as well as the extent of the job play a lot into this. I do not know if you are installing a entire system or just changing out an existing appliance. You are welcome to give me a call and I would be happy to try and help. Thank you Chris 978 651 3301

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little unit, more than adequate to heat my 1200 sq. ft. home using existing attic ductwork.... Great little unit, more than adequate to heat my 1200 sq. ft. home using existing attic ductwork. Easy to connect. Simple operation. Couldn't ask for more. Simple but technologically sophisticated replacement unit for obsolete "old" original 70's gas heater. Great investment. Just installed. Highly recommend this product! Works perfectly from the get-go.
