Q:Grass yard? Anyone have experience burying the 12/2 low voltage wire within / under a grass yard? I was thinking of digging a shallow 1ft. deep trench from my shed (electricity source and place for my Transformer) to new spotlights. Any feedback on that?

A:  We cannot advise on the exact installation due to local regulations or codes being different. However we can confirm that this product is designed for direct burial underground. You will need to consult a local resource in your area (electrician, inspector, etc) or research online for the proper installation practice to ensure compliance.

        Answer This Question

A:  We cannot advise on equipment or diagnostic concerns on others’ products. Based on the figures the 12g cable should be adequate but as to why it isn’t working, we cannot determine or suggest root causes for.

Good easy to work with wire
I've used the Cerrowire products before and I've run miles of wire around my house for my 50,000+ Christmas lights. And I also have a good number of landscape lights around my house. What can I say. I like lights. A lot. This wire is pretty easy to work with for landscape lights and has a good heavy insulation on it yet maintains good flexibility. I found it as easy to work with as any I have used. I don't think you can go wrong with it. This heavier gauge wire is good if you are going to run a lot of lights. And that pretty much fits my description - "a lot of lights." I paired this particular roll of wire with a Hampton Bay transformer and some lights I mounted on my fence. It was a trouble free install. I don't really care that it does not come on a spool. That is just one less thing I have to dispose of and less waste.

          Nice flexible heavy wire
I was using this wire in January and was surprised at how flexible it remained in the cold. The 12 gauge wire is great for long runs of low voltage. The jacket is really tough despite being thin on the bottom. I am not entirely sure why it is like that unless it allows the wire to lay flatter. I like that this wire can be buried since it really needs to go underground for decorative lighting. Great stuff.
