AnswersThe CLULP1-P is a Universal product that works with any model opener. The CLLP-P only works with Chamberlain, Liftmaster and Craftsman. It wires into the safety sensor circuit and only turns on when the beam is broken. Like when you are coming into your garage.

Answersyes, that should work. I connected mine (non-universal model) to my Linear opener's parking sensor outputs and added a motion sensor in-line so it can cut off after one minute. I know it says this model will only work with Chamberlain models but I made it work.

AnswersYes, I have two of this model from my last house that I never installed on my Chamberlain MyQ WiFi garage opener. In our new house, I have a Linear garage door opener. I tested hooking these up to the parking sensor lights and they power them. The only problem is that they stay ON all the time. I remedied that and added an inexpensive motion sensor in-line with this so that it cuts off after about a minute. This works well when you open your garage to park as it will trip the motion sensor to turn the lasers on.
Will this work with with a Genie garage door opener?

The Chamberlain laser parking assist is a small unit that easily attaches to your garage ceiling with one screw or even mounting tape. It is hard wired to you garage door opener’s safety reversing sensor circuit. It installs in minutes by twisting the two wires onto the sensor wires and connecting them to the opener. It is activated when the door sensors are tripped from a vehicle entering the garage. It emits a small red flashing spot that can be aimed to hit your car’s dash board or other point of reference, enabling you to park in the same spot each time. It’s hard to gauge when you have pulled up far enough in a garage, or when you are about to hit something, so this device helps. It does work - but a few issues. First, it’s hard to aim, the range of motion of the laser could be better. Second, the light emitted is very small, almost a pin point size, and not very bright. You must to aim it just right for it to be effective and even when you know where to look, as isn’t as noticeable as I would like it. This unit works with Chamberlain, Craftsman, and Liftmaster doors. It’s very economical, and when you get used to it, it can be helpful.

Alright - before getting started with this laser garage parking assist; you will need to turn off the power to your garage; make sure to open the garage first (So you can get some light) and make sure to get a step ladder. Installation was super easy - it hooks directly into your garage door opener. Overall the appearance of the light could be brighter; but i'm able to see it - some reviews say its harder to see during the day light; but I haven't had that issue; I will say we don't have any windows in our garage so maybe that could be the reason. The only way I would make this better is if you had longer than 1 minute to park; sometimes I open my garage from a distance away so I don't have to wait for it to fully open; then maybe see a neighbor and chat (this is an edge case) but if it was available for maybe 2-3 minutes; would be better !

Since I recently purchased a larger vehicle I have been looking for ways to get it in the garage without scraping the garage door frame or getting too close to the other vehicle so when you open the doors you don't trade paint. I was somewhat confused after opening the box because the online description and the instructions indicate the unit connects directly to a Chamberlain garage door opener but yet the kit also came with an independent power supply (see photo of 'whats in the box' which includes the instructions). Just to set the record straight the laser pointer does connect directly to the motion sensor inputs on the opener. However, I hooked up the separate power supply directly to the laser in order to find a good location on the ceiling. The laser is shipped with a very short cord so your options are limited unless you want to extend the cord which I didn't know if that would be a good idea or not. Once I found a good location then I attached the laser to the ceiling and connected it to the opener and then made final adjustments to the path of the laser which is tedious to say the least. The laser only stays on for a minute after the motion sensors are triggered so you have to be quick in making adjustments and parking your vehicle. By the way the box indicates the unit is compatible with Craftsman and LiftMaster. Overall this can be a useful parking assistant but the instructions/packaging need to be more coherent; the cord could be longer; and the cycle time could be a little longer.

I would recommend this Laser Garage Parking Assist. I found it easy to install and it hooked right up to my garage door opener. I am not a fan of the blinking light, the light pulses and at times can make it hard to see on my dash. During the day the light is not that bright but at night you can see it much more easily. To set the light to a spot on your dash it takes a bit to move the little light around, it is a bit touchy and does not take much to move it. When my garage door opens it is activated and you have one minute to find the light and stop on your spot.

Easy to install but laser light is very dim. Works good at night but during the day the sunlight makes the beam hard to see. Would be a great product if they could resolve that issue.

I have three of these installed. Two are hooked up to an opener on a two car garage and the third is on the opener for my third car garage. I have them all hooked up to the garage door opener using the wire inputs for the door sensors. This makes them come on when those garage door sensors are tripped (when you pull the car into the garage). I will say they can be a little pain to adjust because the ball has to be a little tight to make sure it hold the position. Since the arm to the laser is plastic make sure to hold it close the the ball when adjusting. But once you have it set to a location on the car that is easy to use. I always look for a seam on the dash or something like that. Then I can park the vehicle in almost the exact same spot each time. I have never had an issue with these and like not having something hanging from my ceiling. I like to have my vehicle just far enough in the garage the door is pretty close to the rear of the vehicle which gives me the most room to walk in front of the vehicle.
