I have no instructions on how to program it.
My remote is alittle over a year old i could tell last fall it was getting slower and slower i had to be right up next to the garage door before it would open , now it won't do anything i'm thinking its the battery,
I have garage door openers from late 80s.."Amarr" on the side, "Challenger" on the back. They don't have the safety optical features that Chamberlain says you have to have. There is no learn button. If you have an old remote, take the cover off and look at the dip switches. Take the cover off of the new remote, and match the dip switch positions on both. The new one will have more, turn them all to 'off'. If you don't have an old remoter, there may be a receiver on the opener itself that will have the same dip switch configuration. I have to remove mine from the opener at the ceiing to see them from the back of the receiver. Now push the program button under the cover of the new remote. Depending on the brand of your opener, you push the button you want to use for that door on the remote a number of times. My old remote had 8 buttons, so the instructions for a different brand with 8 buttons said to press the button you want to use 15 times. Slowly.. it has to stop blinking before you press it again. My didn't work at 15, but luckily I tried an extra push, and it activated the door on the 16th push. It was a long shot for this remote to work with my very old opener, but sure enough it did for 2 different doors.
Battery is included in a a separate packing
Sorry this not work with an opener of that age. Congratulations on having the opener still working.
A ladder is necessary only to reach the program buttons on your opener . you must be below your garage door opener to program this universal garage door opener to this device
Pass word protected openers are usually attached to the outside of the door with a code that only the user knows. This universal chamberlain remote is not password protected beyond the code that is paired to the device from your opener when synchronizing it to the unit. To get a password protected device, visit the website and review other products that offer that option
The device pairing instructions include procedures to learn a large variety of codes
Yes
purple learn button manufacturer should have compatibility options for this deivce. visit their website for information.
