Good Tool - Expected Better
Ive been on a tool buying kick lately - Klein, Wera, Wiha, Knipex, etc. Buy once - cry once. I like the idea of supporting good tools from US makers, and these pliers are well priced and highly reviewed. Online order, so i didnt rifle through the rack to look as several pair ... The tool feels great - smooth action right out of the packaging. I expect them to last for quite some time. That said, I’m not entirely sure what happened to the shape of the jaws as they taper to the nose. I wont say theyre bent, more like, what i can only guess is a manual operation to grind them into form together, went wrong. One jaw looks like it would have been fine. The other is misshapen to one side and in some odd attempt to correct, the good jaw had one edge ground down making it less pronounced. Will they likely last for a long time? Yes. Can they grab just fine? Sure. Just expected a bit more quality given the high marks Channellock usually receives, particularly in the context of “Made in the USA”. Still recomment for the price, but i’d rather pay a little more to avoid these types of manufacturing oddities.

(What's this)
I will admit there are a few brands of tools I am partial to, and CHANNELLOCK is one of them. All of the CHANNELLOCK tools I have owned over the years have held up very well, and I see no reason why these pliers will be any different. Many (probably most) hand tools these days are made in China. "Fiercely made in Meadville, PA" is clearly on the packaging for these tools. Some of the quality features include laser heat-treated cutting edges, and precision-machined knife and anvil-style cutting edges. The blue "comfort grip" rubber handles extend completely to the ends of the handles, which I like. (On many tools today, the grips stop short of the end of the handle.) In terms of usability, these pliers are a full 8" long. I will note that they are notably stiffer than my other long-nose pliers. This may be just because they are new, but they easily stay at whatever open or closed angle you leave them at (they won't change angle under their own weight). One thing I did notice about these long-nose pliers is that most of the plier surface does not actually touch when closed: you can see light between the two sides when fully closed. I checked my other pair of long-nose pliers (made by a different company), and see that the same is true of those--perhaps not quite as noticably, but they are also shorter. So I'm assuming this is a standard design feature I hadn't previously noted on long-nose pliers. I expect I will get many years of good use out of these pliers, and would recommend them to anyone looking for quality long-nose pliers.

As you can see from the photo, I use my tools and use them hard. I appreciate in particular when I find tools made in the USA. My last long nose pliers made elsewhere, actually bent at the tip under heavy use, but not abusive use. I was disappointed to say the least. I appreciate Channel Lock brand as a brand I trust to get the job done. I learned my lesson previously that you should not compromise on tool quality. You can if you like, but take it from me ... you get what you pay for. In my past experience, I deserved what I paid for - heartache!

These are standard medium sized pliers. Please see attached pictures for sizing relative to your hand. Probably a little big for smaller jobs, but large enough for trough wire cutting and jobs where a firm grip is needed.

Need to replace my cheap brand of Nose Pliers. Channel Lock has been around for a long time and the make very quality products. The 7 1/2" pliers are made from high-carbon drop-forged steel construction that will last for a very long time. The jaws have Crosshatch pattern on jaws to grip the wire so is want slip out. The cutting portion is laser heat treated to help it last longer. It has rubberize comfort grips. The grips are comfortable to the hand. This 7 1/2" Nose Pliers will last for years.

(What's this)
This needle nose is replacing my old pair which got so rusted that even spraying them with "Liquid Wrench", "WD-40", and silicone , I couldn't get them to function (see picture). The handles on the new pliers are nicely coated with a plastic coating so they grip easily. Them seem very rugged, and should last a long time as long as I don't get them wet so they rust. One VERY important point to make is that they are, as the package says, "Fiercely Made In Meadville, PA." I like the idea of made in the USA!!!

Being the Son of an Electrician / Electrical Contractor I have grown up around Quality Tools from a very young age. This said, I have always been partial to Klein, Snap On & MAC Tools, however I must state the quality of this tool is just as good & solid as all of them. On or In my Tool Belt Pouch the Blue of the tell tale sign of Channel Locks... My opinion of how they feel in your hand when using is a natural extension of one's hand. Quality Tool & the pricing is FAIR! I trust Channel Locks by name extension alone now. My Needle Nose I carry are my Channel Locks 7.5 in. Pliers because they simply put "THEY WORK". The Pliers match up at the tips better than the others & they have a good feel to them.
