Defective Item -Company Refused to Honour Warranty
BE WARY! After about 9 months, the inside of the kettle started chipping and flaking. This was after very, very careful use - never allowing to boil anywhere near dry; cleaning, allowing kettle to cool before adding cool water, only using filtered water.
Chantal customer service refused to honour warranty and replace or refund item. Tried to upsell me a new kettle with a fraudulent discount. This was after submitting many pictures that clearly showed the damage.
This kettle looks lovely but is poorly designed and manufactured. The spout leaks when pouring, the handle is poorly insulated against heat; the lid is awkward to remove, and the kettle is difficult to fill because of the design. Not worth it - even if it was free.

the last kettle you will ever buy
I got the Chantal kettle to replace a cheap kettle that I had scorched. The Chantal is by far superior to any kettle I’ve used. I really like the retro look and feel. It has a comfortable weight to it, the lid is nice and snug, and the seamless interior makes it much less liable to rust. To me, the whistle is loud enough – it’s not like you’re going to walk too far away from a lit stovetop, right? If you are looking to match it to other red metal appliances, the Chili Red color is slightly on the orangey-red side. The first picture shows it next to my KitchenAid “Empire Red” stand mixer. The second shows the seamless interior. The last two show the size difference between a cheap kettle (on the left) and the Chantal (on the right).

Very happy with this tea pot!
I love this tea pot! It replaced another Chantal tea pot that I had for years. There was nothing wrong with my other one but I loved the vintage look and the pop of color this new pot adds to my white kitchen. It is easy to fill up with water (though it would be a bit easier if the handle weren't stationary), it whistles when the water is boiling, and is easy to pour-- does exactly what you expect a tea pot to do. It's easy to flip up the lid on the spout for a quicker pour. The directions recommend not leaving water in the tea pot which sounds like a bit of nuisance to always make sure it's emptied and dry, but I can't imagine this matters for a teapot getting a lot of use.
It's still relatively knew but I hope this tea pot and the enamel's beautiful aqua color hold up because it really makes a statement in my white kitchen.

Well made tea kettle
I was impressed at how well made this kettle is. The inside is enamel so you won't get calcium build up. The bottom is thick which will help if you ever leave it on too long. But it also whistles so unless you are out if the house you will hear it. The vibrant red color matches our other red kitchen gadgets. The handle is very comfortable to hold. But I would have liked it to swivel away for easier filling but it's not a big deal.

Whistling Tea Pot.
This Tea pot is a deeper red than the picture shows,it is definitely a chili red and looks great.It is made of steel and is coated inside and out.The inside is coated in a dark blue ceramic while the outside is the chili red.The handle is stationary and does not move and uses screws to hold it in place.It has a plastic and steel whistle which is attached and moves out of the way for pouring.The lid is thick and works well for holding in the heat. It heats up fast and the whistle makes a distinct sound you cant miss.The fit and finish is excellent and the overall quality is great.This is definitely a great addiction to our kitchen and looking forward to using it for years to come.

Red teakettle with whistle!
I’m enjoying my new teakettle. I read how to use it and I dry out after each use. I’m hoping it doesn’t get all gunky inside. I use it every day. Kitten doesn’t like whistle.
