If the receptacle is a nema 14-50 (or 6-50 for the other model) - yes. Go to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NEMA_connector and check the diagram for nema 6 and 14 plugs to see if they match yours.
Yes, but it requires a weather resistant outlet or hardwired installation.
Both the car and the charger have J1772 connectors, so it will work, but it has much more capacity than is necessary for a plugin hybrid. The car comes with a 120v charging cable (level 1 charger) which should give a full charge in about 5 hours (about 4 miles per hour). This charger (level 2) may charge faster (25+ miles per hour) but I couldn't find the maximum power the car will accept so could not confirm if that is true. You could test this using a public level 2 charger. There is a warning in the volvo manual that says "Only use the charging cable provided with your vehicle or a replacement cable purchased from a Volvo retailer."
Hi there! ChargePoint Home Flex has an output power of 3.8kW to 12kW, depending on the rating of the circuit the station is powered by and which amperage rating you select during charger setup. Installing on a 70A/80A circuit for 50A charging has maximum power of 12kW (50A * 240V), and installing on a 50A circuit for 40A charging has maximum power of 9.6kW (40A * 240V). See chargepoint.com/homeinstall for more information.
No. If you see someone is charging via your app, you can stop the charge. You have to check the app, there's no notification to let you know a charge has started. You could always turn the breaker off but that would be a hassle.
It's a level 2 charger and has a NEMA 14-50 plug (can also be hardwired). HD also sells a version with a NEMA 6-50 plug.
If you have an adapter for a J-1772 connector then yes.
Hi there, Yes, ChargePoint Home Flex is UL listed for safety and also Energy Star certified for efficiency. UL is a testing lab recognized by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. Thanks for asking, Team ChargePoint
You need to use the app to configure the amps to provide to the car (it's configurable from 16 to 50) based on the capacity of the circuit it's attached to. Charging works automatically without the app.
Hi there, Yes, you can use either a 208 or 240V single phase circuit depending on your electrical situation to charge with ChargePoint Home Flex. Thanks for asking, Team ChargePoint
