I ordered some plugs that were 3/4 inch. The opening in the pipe for the sprinkler system is 3/4 inch. However, these are actually 1 inch outer diameter and 3/4 inch interior. They are too big for the 3/4 inch opening as they have the same opening and the threads do not fit inside. Would the half inch size fit a 3/4 inch opening? There are no external diameter measurements given here.
Asked by: Gene
First, the plug is male; it has to be the same diameter as the hole you want to close. Secondly, you have to always be sure the thread patterns match, i.e., fine threaded vs coarse threaded; which It appears this may be the issue you are having.

The descriptions says this is for use with potable water, and the specifications say non-potable. Which is correct?
Asked by: Dana
We apologize for the misleading information. The description is accurate, you can use PVC SCH 40 fittings for cold water supply line. However you can not use it for hot water as it's not rated for the higher temperature. We will update the specifications ASAP.

Does 1/2 " refer tp the diameter of threaded part

Does 1/2 " refer tp the diameter of threaded part
Asked by: Andre
A 3/4 inch plug does not fit a 3/4 inch pipe opening. They are actually 1 inch external diameter including threads. So does a 1/2 inch plug fit a 3/4 inch opening or are these all miss sized? It would help if external diameter dimensions were included here.

What size wrench do I need to install this?

Asked by: Bryan
Hello Bryan, thanks for choosing Charlotte Pipe. Making sure to add two rounds of Teflon tape to the threads you should really only hand tighten this fitting. if you do need to ratchet it down further you could use an adjustable wrench making sure to only tighten a little at a time until you reach the degree of tightness you desire. Good luck.
