No clue. But just the idea that a container with food is placed atop of a frozen granite surface does not sound right. Would not to it.

Would not use plastic ones. I use it not for plates but pan or skillet to keep food warm at the table. Like for fajita or taco. Works fine. For plates I use a different item.

It all depends on the size/power of the microwave. You would probably be safe warming it for two minutes. If it doesn't seem to heat well enough, add another minute, but don't go over three minutes.
