I bought this 8-cup coffee maker for my son for Christmas. It was something he really wanted. I looked for it in stores and online for quite a while only to find most sites had a one-month wait time. Finally, I found that I could order it from Home Depot online and have it sent to a store near me with no shipping costs! Once I ordered it, I was given a time table of when I might expect delivery at the store. It ranged from December 21 to December 27. I was a little nervous since my son was only going to be home with us through Christmas day. I couldn't believe my luck when I received an e-mail from Home Depot on December 21 that said my coffee maker was waiting at the store to be picked up! Thank you, Home Depot, for coming through for me and my son!

Can the wood collar be removed?

Yes. You simply loosen the rawhide loop. Then you can place it in the dishwasher for cleaning.

The Chemex bonded filters are sold separately from the brewers, the following filters are compatible with the Chemex 10-Cup Coffeemaker: FC-100, FS-100 Or FSU-100.

I used to have a pour over coffee pot years ago and it came with an electric heater that would keep the coffee hot for at least an hr. How do you keep the coffee hot?

We place it on the stove. Ours is gas so no wire protection is needed. If you have an electric stove, you need to get the burner protection. It's a little wire trivet you place between the pot and the heating elements. We also bought the clear glass "stopper' that helps to keep the heat in the pot while on the stove. It really helps too. You will have to keep it on low to avoid boiling the coffee.
