        A:  Hi Hazel, Our snap-n-glide roller shades come with a 1/2-inch deduction which is required for inside mount. Please note that it will need about 1/2-inch of space and room to install your hardware. For outside mount we recommend ordering about 3-4 inches extra so it covers the entire space.           A different use for this roller shade!
          I did not use this shade for a window. I installed this on a structural beam that was between the living room and a little side "nook" at my lake house. In the summertime, I need multiple sleeping areas for visitors and privacy is a shortage at my little 800 sq ft cottage! I bought a futon sofa a year ago and needed something to separate it from the living space when someone was sleeping over. This roller shade was perfect for what I needed!!!! It took less than 15 minutes to install this shade using the included brackets & anchors. It was super easy to pop the shade into the brackets! The only thing I would have appreciated, is having the valance "apron" extended to the ends of the valance. It just looks a little unfinished, but is still really nice. The price for these roller shades is really good and I'm sure I will be buying more for other locations. You can just lift the shade rather than having unsightly cords hanging down which was another reason I liked this shade. It just "tucks discretely away" and you would never know it was there! Comes in a few different sizes for your needs. Nice fabric. Mountain snow is a soft white and looks great. (see pics)

          So close to a great product. The installation was fairly easy. The roller works great. The only problem is that this is not really a valence. The sides are bare white plastic. A true valence would hide the entire roller mechanism. The unit looks really dreadful. The white plastic sides with two screws exposed. This is for my home office so, I am not sure that I will keep it. Why in the heck would they have left the sides bare?

            My cat destroyed all of the blinds in my house, so I needed something pet-friendly (cordless) that was aesthetically pleasing and easy to use. These look very clean and they're super easy to install. I did the top mount method and it took me about 3 minutes per shade. One thing that Chicology could explain better in the mounting was the pilot holes needed. The mounting screws are #6 size and I drilled directly into a softer wood, so I used a 3/32" pilot hole (didn't use the anchors provided). Only reason I knocked off a star is they're not super easy to roll back up. They work but I wish it was a biiiiiit more effortless. Anyway, great purchase for the price- happy with the product!

              This was not easy to install. I have bought other Chicology products and they were much easier to install. This did not click in easily. Some of the blinds I bought will barely stay down. If you slightly touch it, it starts going back up.
