Hi! Yes, flagstone can be sealed by either spraying or rolling. For flagstone, we recommend spraying the sealer on and then back-rolling immediately. This helps provide even coverage while preventing puddling or heavy spots in crevices. The most important thing is to avoid allowing the sealer to pool in the joints, depressions, or low areas. Two thin coats are generally better than one heavy coat. Please keep in mind that flagstone is a natural layered stone and can chip, flake, or delaminate over time. We always recommend applying the product to a small, inconspicuous test area first, as testing is especially important when working with natural stone.
Hi, Thank you for your question! Our 1 gal. Clear Wet Look High Gloss Water-Based Interior/Exterior Concrete Sealer is designed to protect and enhance concrete surfaces, including countertops. However, it is not certified as food-safe or food-contact approved. If you’re using it on a concrete countertop near a food prep area, we recommend applying it only to surfaces that are not used for direct food contact, or using cutting boards, mats, or other barriers for any food preparation.
Hi, Thank you for your question. All coatings, including this sealer, may be slippery when moisture is present. To mitigate this, we recommend our Classic Gator Grip, which is added to the second coat of this sealer. Thank you!
Hi, Thank you for you question. There are a few things to keep in mind before applying our sealer to water-submerged surfaces. First, because sure to thoroughly clean the fountain and ensure that all efflorescence and foreign materials are removed prior to application. Our Classic Coatings Cleaner would work for this step. Secondly, minerals naturally found in water may lead to a build-up of a white residue on surfaces that are submerged. You may find that stains/sealers wear and tear more quickly underwater and need additional maintenance. Third, any treatments added to the water (chlorine, etc) will affect the long-term durability of the sealer. Thank you!
HI, Thank you for your question. Yes, all of our coverage estimate ranges are for the recommend two coats of application. Please note that coverage will vary depending on the surface absorption rates, surface type, and the method of application. On that final point, we find that sprayers yield the greatest coverage rates when compared with brushes or rollers. Thank you
HI, Thank you for your question! Freeze Thaw refers to temperatures drop below freezing and then rise above freeze in a repeating cycle. This can cycle can damage concrete, rocks, and other building materials as water present in these materials freeze and expands, then thaws and melts. Thank you, Customer Service
Hi, Thank you for your question! Our stains generally do not alter the color a surface too drastically, so it's unlikely you'll see a major difference. That being said, adding our stains to our stains will enhance the color of the stain. Thank you
It depends on what was previously used to color your concrete. This sealer can be used over existing color but I recommend contacting Classic Coatings Systems at their technical support line to make sure: (951) 279-2600
