Overview

Grill-cooking is tasty and healthy. Cooking on a grill not only adds a smoked-flavor to prepared food, but also helps unlock the real and natural taste of food. It is no wonder why so many demanding gourmets enjoy grilled food. Even during cold winters, they still cook on a grill. In addition, grill-cooked food is healthy because it contains less fat than either broiled or fried food. The saturated (meat) fat is drained away by heat from the flame underneath achieving lean low-calorie food. No one likes to clean the grill. When cooking on a grill, the fat drippings and the food itself stick to the grill bars. They then become thick layers of carbonized (greasy) food residue. No matter what material or method is used for manufacturing the grill grates, they always need to be cleaned. We all hate it. So, the same grill is often used without a serious cleaning. Consequently, the food residue from earlier cooking becomes a part of the new fresh food making it taste bitter. Such food residue is known to be harmful. So, when the residue is not cleaned, many unpleasant things can occur. When you use a grill at a public park, the black thing marking your new food is actually from the previous use of the grill by someone else. In one example, someone allergic to oysters was sent to an emergency room, after eating a (beef) steak in a restaurant. And more. Now, good news for grill users.

How many times can you use a liner?

Can you wash the liner and reuse it?
Asked by: Cher
Depends. Use a bit of oil to prevent sticking and you can use them several times 4 - 6. Be sure and clean after each use while warm as it is much easier to clean.

I like that they save my grids by food & grease not getting so burned onto them. Best part, you can cut them to size for whatever you are cooking in order to make then go further. One thing that helps us is to marinade the meat in an olive oil or oil of your choice, with whatever spices or flavors you want. It helps to keep the meat from sticking. They may not be for everyone but we sure enjoy them.

They worked great with the "shish kabobs" but there were those usual problems of some foods sticking to it especially when turning hamburgers. I'd still buy them again but spray them first with a "non-stick" product/aerosol to avoid sticking.

For the most part it was fine just struggled to keep it in place. Maybe a heavier foil would work better. But yes I would buy it again, it did keep the grill clean enough so minimal cleaning was required.

My grill grate is all rusty and these helped to keep the food away from the rust. I wasn't expecting them to be as weak a they were, but they worked okay. Just remember to grease them before you put your food on them. The food stuck to the aluminum.

Depending on what you are cooking they are reusable. If you use your grill several times a week could get costly.Gets me by until I replace the cooking grids.

They do cut back on the clean-up of the grill, however, I sense that it's not allowing for the full BBQ effect as far as grill marks. Seems to create a steaming effect rather than a BBQ grilled result.

Depending on what I am grilling I can sometimes get 2 uses out of one because I only used one half. Also, be aware the edges are very sharp.
