It's not made for houses, it was originally made for dog kennels but found favor in small campers and buildings like she-sheds etc. The fittings are used to directly plumb it through a wall, no window kits are available at this writing.

Yes you can fit the tubs through the window and it could cool but it depends on how much space you have to cool. I have a 10x10x8 shed and it cools down I keep it at 75 degrees.

Cooled air is pushed out one tube and return air is sucked in the other. The thermocouple (thermostat) is located inside the unit where the return enters the unit.

I purchased and installed this unit in July of this year. It's providing HVAC for a 12x12, insulated he-shed. I ran the cooling for the remainder of the summer with no problems keeping the shed cool. With our week-long Autumn, it only had a few days break before I activated the heat. It's been running almost a month keeping the shed plenty warm. My only complaint is the location of the IR receiver to control the unit. All functions are controlled by the IR Remote. Unless you have a window (and/or mirrors strategically placed,) near the unit, you'll have to step outside to adjust the controls. I'm waiting for the hard-wire controller to be in stock to eliminate this nuisance. Although this unit is advertised as "portable", if I were to put this in a trailer, I'd advise building a shock proof box to hold it. If it's tied/bolted into a trailer, I imagine the compressor couldn't take the road shock it would bear. Installing it as a permanent unit works great for sure though!

I purchased this product from Home Depot last June. When we first installed it, the air conditioning worked fine. The heat worked fine. Then the vent hoses broke. They simply began to split apart, so thoroughly that we couldn't even tape them to work while awaiting new hoses. The hoses are very expensive ($90 for a set of two), and take quite a long time to ship. Every time I've been on the climate right site, they are shown as "out of stock." We eventually received the new hoses, and the 2nd set has also split. We have this unit on a separate dedicated breaker. The breaker started tripping, and we thought it must be a problem with either the breaker or the outlet. After checking those, our only option was to open the climate right unit, and see if we could see any obvious problem in it. We were shocked. As soon as we removed the exterior panel, we saw the problem. The blades on the fan are plastic, and they were ALL completely broken and laying in the bottom of the unit. I filed a claim on the climate right site, but have not heard back from them. I never heard back from them after contacting them about the vent hoses, either. More disappointing, Home Depot says they won't get involved because it is past 90 days from purchase. The unit is under the manufacturer's warranty, but unless we purchased the HD extra warranty, they say they won't do anything to help us. Even though we purchased the product through HD, thinking they would stand behind the products they sell. For the record, we have not moved the unit since it was installed, and nothing has happened that would cause the fan to break apart. The exterior of the unit is completely intact and sitting exactly as we originally placed it. very disappointed.

Ended up with 3 of these, not able to use as advertised at the time I bought the first one. They would not give me my money back but sent another. Remote didn't work, sent me another. Second unit worked then quit, had to argue with them and finally sent me the third, after paying over $70 to ship back. Bad customer service at factory had to fight with them the entire way. Later saw on their website they removed advertisement for install on vehicles or campers. Now sits in the box in my storage building. Wasted money. I would rate this a negative if I could.

Circuit board fried within less than a year. There is a fuse but I guess the board is not properly designed somehow because the IC circuits blew instead of the fuse. Company did not respond to warranty claim posted via their online form, company did not respond to support tickets. Company has no phone number. After nearly two weeks of chasing them I finally got a response when contacting them via certified mail. Since this was in a permanent installation the unit had been hard-wired into an electrical box for the past year. When the company finally responded they used this as an excuse to not honor the warranty. Overall, this thing does exactly what it says on the box, and it's worked great until a power surge killed it. If you buy it, don't count on the warranty and consider plugging it in via a surge protector.

I don't think they even sell these anymore. Camped a grand total of five times with mine. Circuit board fried itself due to condensation. ClimateRite will not stand behind it. Avoid their products! Others with the same problem - It is a poor design. Check all the UTube videos on this worthless A/C. Worst is the way the company turned it's back. Class Action needed!

I purchased this unit for use in my shed in Florida. It never worked correctly. One feature I wanted was being able to set the temp and the unit would only cool if the interior temp rose above the setting. When setting the temp to 75, the unit would continue on full cool, sometimes going into the low 60's when it was 90 outside! I would have to run outside and turn it off and on all the time. Customer service was pathetic, they repeatedly sent me directions on how to use the unit, copied from the instruction booklet (like I didn't read them before sending them an email). When they finally acknowledged there was an issue (this took 3 months of sending a record of temps and settings, pictures of the install and many many calls) they sent me a part to install myself! without instructions! After hours trying to do this myself, it was the wrong part! this was for a different model. Bottom line, not only did I not have an AC unit all summer, but they refused to pay to have someone install the part, which was the wrong part anyway, and they won't take the unit back. They do not stand behind their products and the warranty is useless!
