is the bubble on the bottom only one size

Asked by: schuter
The bubble adjusts to your garage floor, so there are no specific sizes to that part of it. The bubble It is created when the rubber sealing, which is a FLAT piece, is FOLDED into a U-shape, and then inserted into two slots in the metal frame at the bottom of the door. When your door closes, the rubber is flexible, so it adjusts to meet your garage floor, even if your garage floor is uneven in places.

Will this work on a wood garage door?

Asked by: Val
Only if you have the metal bottom edge with the slots in it for the "feet" of the seal.

18 ft. Replacement Bottom Weatherseal is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 129.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits great, as advertised My ten year old 2 door garage door was starting to show its wear so after upgrading the motor I set my sights on the weather stripping. The product was nearly an exact match. Getting the original off was a little tricky until I decided to slit it in two and then it came right out. After cleaning out the grooves the new one went in quite easily. Having another set of hands to help push and pull would have been nice, but I managed okay by myself. It had about 18" of extra length so I trimmed that and crimped the channels to look it in. Overall it took me about 20 minutes from start to end. I'll definitely do again before another 10 years go by.

I'm a girl and I got it done! It's a great idea to read all the reviews and tips first. Take the time to do some prep work, and watch an installation video on YouTube. It'll be so worth it. It will take two people. My door was a little banged up and rough, so I had to remove some screws from the bottom frame and replace them and get the frame in good shape. I even had to file a few small sharp metal flaws on the frame track, and then cleaned the track with a firm brush. When you feed the seal in, be sure to have about 1 foot of it held out very straight to your side, level with the track as if your aiming it into the track from a foot out. I did not need to use any lube on the track. The seal slid right in easily in 1 minute, after about 30 minutes of prep work. When done, cut the ends with a knife, fold them in, and the seal to the garage floor is perfect!

I have a Copay door from 1993, I called the company and asked them which seal I should use. After giving them the serial number; they told me that they only had one product that is now available for my door. I watched several Tube videos which I found very helpful. I am not a do-it-yourselfer but I thought I'd try installing this with my wife's help. After sliding the weather seal off - took 4 minutes; I cleaned the track with warm, soapy water to get some mildew off. That took 10 minutes. I then sprayed the track with warm, soapy water and started to slide the new track on. I had trouble getting the notches in the track; so my wife took over the job. She got it started and I pulled. After 11 minutes (we restarted 3 times due to weather seal coming out of the track) we were done. To hopefully eliminate the seal from coming out of the track - pull very slowly. I am thrilled with how easy it was and that I saved over $150 from having a garage door company do the job.

However, I didn't look closely at the package I picked out, the seal comes rolled up, and it had a twist in it so it didn't lay flat when I unwrapped it. Still looks kinked a bit, even after the sun has hit it for several weeks. Also, it isn't very thick material, so once installed, and the door was closed, it would completely flatten out along the bottom of the door. I decided to reinforce it by cutting a piece of old rubber hose to length, and sliding it inside the "U" shape the seal makes when installed. Now it works perfectly! And - keeps its shape.

Look at youtube for some tips before installing. Did not crimp the ends of the tracks or reinstall the 2 sheet metal screws ( one near each end of the door track) to stop the bottom seal from moving. Used 2 small pieces of Gorilla Tape, one near each end, to stop any movement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Clopay Weather Seal I bought the 18 foot seal to replace the two seals currently on my garage doors. I cut the seal in half since it's cheaper than buying two separate seals. Very easy installation. All you need to do is slide the old seal out and the new one in. I used a little silicon to keep the seal from sliding left or right
