Yes, there should be plenty of room, i would put the foam rod in the same time you put the seal in. I dont know what size, but 1/2" should be plenty. I would go with like 20% compression.
I don't believe so. This is for a U shaped gasket with ¼" wide T's on them.
The floor needs to be pretty level for this seal to be effective.

Yes....I would say flexible and easy to manipulate into the bottom of the garage panel. Best if you have another person to help with guiding the seal into the tracks.
