AnswerThe spacing would depend on your particular project and installation method. Info on installation can be found at the following link: http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/catalog/servlet/ContentView?pn=KH_PG_ShelfTrack_Closet_Storage Teh drawers systems are fixed width. The one you've referenced is 21" wide so standards would need ot spaced according to that width. Thank you for your inquiry.
Why not design this in a more flexible way? The width of existing standards may not be 21 inches...

AnswerThis ClosetMaid wire drawer hardware kit is for use on the ShelfTrack hang track and standards system. The standards need to be positioned 20.5 in. apart to accommodate the 21 in. top frame. The brackets are 17.75 in. long. This kit is meant to be used with the Fabric Hamper (Model #38133, Internet #100672003, Store SKU #217841), Fabric Drawer (Model #38193, Internet #100671996, Store SKU #218447), or 17 in. wide Wire Baskets, which are all sold separately.

If I hadn't already have purchased these shelves from the store a few years back, I wouldn't have known how good they work in my pantry. This was a good addition to our pantry shelving layout. Once installed it is rigid and smooth in operation for the drawer below it. The drawer, however, does not have the same spacing for the wires. The shelf is on 1" spacing and the drawer is on 1.75" ! That makes the drawer flimsy.
We are considering replacing this with a drawer from another vendor which will be much more substantial.
