Style+ 17 in. W White Hanging Wood Closet Tower

This is a good mid-range closet tower for a narrow space. I purchased on sale so I believe this is a great value and perfectly fit in the small space. The closet tower was easy to assemble and the next day I finalized the measurements and bracket installation. Instructions are thorough and clear to ensure everything is secured correctly.

A great way to maximize closet space, easy to assemble and install with a lot of adjustable shelving and drawer options. I had some unusable space in a corner next the closet door and this hanging tower fit the space so efficiently that it could have been custom made. Once assembled, it has four generous shelves that are plenty large enough for T-shirts, sweaters, baseball caps, towels and whatever else you might need to find storage for. The shelving tower is rated to hold around 40 lbs of clothes and accessories. The top and bottom shelves are fixed position however the two middle shelves are highly adjustable with the support pegs space about 1 1/2” apart allowing just about any shelf configuration you might want. If you need more shelves, you can buy them from Home Depot in packs of two as the ClosetMaid Style+ range is a Home Depot exclusive. We added the ClosetMaid Style+ 10” drawer kit to the bottom of the closet shelf. This add-on accessory is easy to assemble and created a slide out drawer that is 13.5” wide, 12.5” deep and 6.75” deep. The drawer slides that come with the kit are ‘soft close’ so they close automatically for the last 2-3”. Adding the drawer means you lose a shelf however the drawers are great if you have small or loose items like socks etc. to store. I also like that I could position the shelf immediately above the drawer so that it was flush with the top of the drawer, making for a very clean looking finish. The shelving is made from laminated wood with a dark brown wood look veneer finish. The shelf tower comes as a flat pack and takes about 15 minutes to assemble with the help of some very clear and simple instructions. All the fastener holes are pre-drilled and all you really need is a Philips screwdriver and a drill (for the hanging bracket) to complete the job. Unlike some flat pack furniture, everything was drilled in exactly the right place and I didn’t have to adjust anything during assembly. Once assembled, a metal bracket is attached to the closet wall (three drywall toggle bolts are included for this) and the shelf is lifted into place and hooks over the metal bracket where gravity keeps it in place. Four plastic brackets are then screwed to the shelf and the closet wall in each corner to keep it solidly in place. Four drywall anchors are provided for these corner brackets. The drawer kit was even easier to assemble and took about 10 minutes to put together with the aid of a Philips screwdriver. Once finished, I fitted the drawer slides into the pre-drilled shelf support holes and everything lined up perfectly. Since it is part of a ClosetMaid system, you can add on things like more drawers, shoe racks and adjustable hanging rods to expand the functionality of the closet which are also available at Home Depot.

This storage system is great for anyone looking to organize there closet or to have a book shelf system that is easy to adjust and well built. The whole amount of time it took to put them together is less than thirty minutes. It is styling and made of quality material. The instructions also were very easy to follow and if you should encounter a problem there is a Hotline you can call and they will assist you!

Overall nice quality and well-sized closet storage unit by CLOSETMAID. Also pleased with the auto-closing drawer that was included which you could install in several desired locations. The pieces inside the box could have been protected a little better and were dusty so I recommend wiping first with damp paper towels before and after assembly. Assembly was relatively easy for one person. I mounted level on the floor inside closet and fastened to wall with the included hardware. Works well for getting stuff off the floor making more room and tidy's up the space!

I really like our ClosetMaid hanging tower and it was easy to put together with the nice detailed instructions. We also have the 10 inch sliding drawer which is a nice accessory to add to the hanging tower. This is a nice size for our small space at 14.59 inches deep x 16.97 inches wide and 56.48 inches tall. It comes complete with a wall mounting bracket and also L-brackets to attach it securely to the wall. It's solid particle board with a beautiful chocolate wood finish. Definitely a nice addition to any closet.

Great value at a reasonable cost. Initially I had planned to simply build a closet system. I decided instead to give ClosetMaid a try. These shelves are made of quality materials and are a snap to assemble. In my application, I needed some additional storage for sweaters, sweatshirts, T-shirts and such. While the vendor offers a wide range of configurations, this one fits my needs perfectly. It readily fit just under the existent hanger bar and the cabinet is more than sturdy enough for my needs. (Or most others) To further reduce the space used, I chose to end mount it, rather than reduce the usable closet bar more than need be. Having now seen the end product, I now plan to install another in a second bedroom. Truly a great product for anyone who craves more storage.

Easy to install, directions were easy to follow. Assembly of the tower took less than 10 minutes. The unit looks high end and like it was installed by a professional. The shelves are adjustable, which make it easy to customize it to fit your needs. Additional shelves can be ordered or drawers can be placed inside the tower. I am ordering a shelf for the top and between the 2 rows of hanging clothes. Great system for a DIYer. Great quality and very reasonably priced.

I wanted to use this hanging tower shelving unit from CLOSETMAID as a stand-alone unit in one of our closets, but was disappointed to find that it is designed to hang on the wall with a long bracket and then secure it at the bottom of the shelving unit to the wall. It's not sturdy enough to be a stand alone unit since it does not have a back that would help hold the sides in proper alignment. The assembly took about 20 minutes after I laid all of the parts out and determined their placement in assembly. The directions label the parts "a, b, c" etc, but none of the parts are labeled with this same notation, so you'll have to figure them out on your own. I'll be mounting it to the wall after I get the help of a family member to hang it (hanging is recommended to be a two person job.)

The Closet Maid Noir Wood Hanging Closet System is a great addition to the already diverse Closet Maid collection. The Noir color is dark, rich and definitely stylish. This system allows you the ability to add a personal touch anywhere you decide to use it due to the the various sizes and shelving options which provide a wide variety of configurations. We definitely decided to use this system in an unconventional way. Thinking outside of the box, we decided to use these hanging shelving units in our media room. We are creating a custom entertainment / shelving console that will flank either side of the TV. We are also going to use it in the other corners of the room to display a wide variety items from sports memorabilia to my daughters intricate LEGO masterpieces. The shelving units are extremely easy to put together and can be completed in no time at all by one person. However, they are pretty heavy and I would strongly recommend getting someone to help lift them and get them in place. A definite plus is the fact that Closet Maid provides the proper hardware to hang the shelving units with complete piece of mind. There are only two things that I wish were different. The pewter / gold colored bar that is used to mount the shelving unit to the wall stands out against the dark noir color. It would definitely look better and not stand out if it was a dark matte black. It wouldn’t be an issue in a closet, where your clothes would typically hide it, however when you want to use it in an unconventional way the little details count. The final change that I think would add that finishing touch would be some sort of insert to fill in the void between the mountain bracket and shelving system. With those two small suggestions aside, this is a quality product that I well worth the investment no matter where you decide to use it.

I was thoroughly unimpressed with this closet system. The shelf unit was very cheaply made. I realize that most of the knock down type of furniture or cabinets are made of particle board and these are no exception. The way the shelving unit was designed placed the fasteners to close to the edges of the parts and when you tried to insert them into the predrilled holes, if you weren't careful, the particle board would flake out and the fasteners would end up crooked. The artificial finish would also chip and flake off when inserting fasteners. There are not many parts to this unit and they are clearly labeled in the assembly instructions however none of the parts themselves were marked to coincide with the instruction booklet. Not one of there better products.
