The manufacturer has a lifetime warranty for this item which states on the packaging: COAST Products warranties this product to be free of defects in materials and workmanship for the life to the original purchaser. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, nor damage resulting from misuse or neglect. A:  Based on how long you have owned the headset, you can contact HD Customer Sercice and request an exchange. I have had the device myself now for over a year and so not see this condition

A:  The black clips that come in some models of COAST headlamps are for use with a construction type safety helmet. They attach to the headband and then hook under the rim of the helmet.
