Incredible Flashlight!
Im so happy with this flashlight! It has the perfect features you could ever want from a flashlight - super bright, doesn't get hot, rechargeable, lightweight, hook for a lanyard, and has dual focus. It's so bright it's like having the sun light your way at night. I love the spotlight too which helps me spot things several yards in the distance, and the flood light which casts a super wide light on everything (I can see several feet to my right and left without even pointing the flashlight). No more walking my dog in the dark ever again! The added bonus is the way they designed it, you can set it on the counter and it won't roll away!! This little flashlight is truly amazing.

The rechargeable trend has been here now for awhile, and I am happy to say I have a flashlight that I can recharge in a number of different ways. The USB recharger is the way to go in my opinion, it comes with, an outlet (110v) adapter, the USB cord, and battery pack. This unit can be charged directly to the rechargeable battery pack (removed from flashlight). This will accept 3 AAA batteries as well, if you are in a pinch while charging the battery pack. This has exceeded my expectations, why you ask?? Because now I can charge this unit up with my portable solar panel (Goal Zero). I have not owned it too long, but the simple design and the Coast warranty make this a good addition to your pack. Many options are a good thing when recharging flashlights/headlamps, because half the day is night.

The Polysteel 400R LED Flashlight is equipped with a Dual Power system that enables the light to run on either the rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack or standard alkaline batteries. This dual power source allows me power for my light at all times. I can also use the rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack to power my cell phone with the USB charging cord. The flashlight is waterproof, drop proof, and crush proof. The light beam is adjustable by twisting the head of the light to move between a flood and a spot beam. You can control the light power (high, med. or low) with a push of the button at the rear of the flashlight. The Polysteel 400R Flashlight is backed by lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. I use this flashlight mainly in the early morning or after dark when walking my dog. It gives us plenty of light to keep us safe for seeing critters in the bushes and approaching vehicles. This handy little light with its many features will be taken along on my travels. The only con I found with the light is that I needed to charge the batteries frequently to maintain the light's brightness.I found the charging times to be short.

Finally, a good flashlight! Bonus: phone aux battery capability. This was really well thought out. The flashlight comes with two battery packs. One can hold 4 x AAA batteries, the other is a Lithium Ion rechargeable unit. Both seem to give the same brightness, but I haven’t used them both consistently enough to tell if one will give the same light duration as the other. The flashlight beam provides great light and can be adjusted to wide, with very even coverage, or bright spot. There are 3 different light intensities that you can select by multiple on/off button presses. But the most interesting & different feature is that the rechargeable battery can be used to power or recharge your devices, such as an iPhone. The battery has 2 USB sockets (regular and micro) to which you can connect your device to the battery when it is out of the flashlight. See attached photos. A handy feature.

The Coast Brand, Polysteel 400R 400 Lumen Rechargeable Waterproof LED Flashlight with Twist Focus...
The Coast Brand, Polysteel 400R 400 Lumen Rechargeable Waterproof LED Flashlight with Twist Focus is the most amazing flashlight I have ever owned. Aside from being the perfect flashlight for general home or camping needs, the rechargeable battery feature extends the usefulness of this flashlight far beyond average flashlights. The 400-lumen output combined with the ability to focus and soften the light for close up work to include three light output levels, makes this compact, yet powerful flashlight, truly universal. Learning to select the three light levels takes a bit of practice, yet depressing the on/off switch at a steady pace will easily cycle though all three brightness levels. I was simply amazed that this flashlight battery would recharge my cell phone. The rechargeable battery includes an LED indicator to show the flashlight battery is charging when red, and when the flashlight battery recharging completes, it turns green. Talk about a flashlight for all occasions from general use to disaster preparedness, the Polysteel 400R 400 Lumen Rechargeable Waterproof LED Flashlight covers them all. The twist focus feature on my flashlight didn’t seem to work at first. It just took much more force than I expected to break the focus feature free. However, after that initial force, the focus feature works nicely with appropriate resistance to hold the focus setting while in use. I’ll likely only use this flashlight with the rechargeable battery, so it is maintained and ready to go. I didn’t notice much difference in light output between using the disposable alkaline or rechargeable battery, plus as disposable batteries discharge, they lose voltage and I assume the flashlight would reduce its light output with reduced battery voltage. In my opinion this flashlight is an outstanding value based on cost, features, and performance.

This flashlight is the bomb.com! It is super small and not cumbersome at all, quality made, rechargeable, easy to use and has the best light ever. Not sure it will shine as far as they claim, but it sure is bright and makes things clearly visible. It even worked well during the day, inside! Do not look directly at the bulb! I highly recommend this flashlight. I got this to replace our big 'ole square rechargeable flood light flashlight we use outside at night. Works way better!

The light emission is good. The light can shine wider as a flood light or narrower as a spot light by turning the the ring on the end by the light. When narrow, there is a brighter center with a surrounding halo effect. A wider spread means less light over the area, but still bright enough to see where you're walking in the dark. Even in flood light mode, the light over the entire area is pretty bright. This flashlight comes with a rechargeable battery pack which can also be used to charge other items, like your phone using the USB connection on the battery pack. The flashlight also comes with an akaline battery pack so if you aren't ready with the charged battery pack, you can use regular batteries. I appreciate that akaline batteries came with the flashlight so I didn't have to learn later that I need to buy batteries! The light shines at three levels: Bright, medium and dim. One click is supposed to be bright, 2 clicks for medium and 3 for dim. I'm not exactly sure the rhythm required in the clicking, but it doesn't seem to be multiple quick clicks...perhaps delays are expected. I just keep clicking until it looks right. This flashlight is very lightweight. There's a place to attach a strap. It would have been nice if one came with the flashlight. I expect that I will most often use the rechargeable battery because I know over time I'm going to forget where I put the akaline battery pack or should I find it, I won't know what it goes to. I'm also worried that I'm going to lose the charging cord. It would be nice if the flashlight casing was a little longer to have a space to store the charging cord.

This is bright, flexible flashlight. You can either power it from a USB rechargeable battery pack or from 4 AAA alkaline cells. The brightness and runtimes are different for the two battery options. The alkaline cells give better performance than the rechargeable battery pack. I didn’t do any capacity tests using the rechargeable pack on my phone, although it did seem to slowly charge the phone. The back of the package gives more details of runtime and brightness to expect from the battery options. The only minor problem I encountered was the twist focus control. I had to try really hard to get it to twist the first time I tried changing the focus. I was just about to get my Channellock pliers to get it loosened when it broke loose. After that, the focus control worked smoothly with minimal effort. I dropped the flashlight a few times from a height of 3 feet. It just bounced and kept on working. The price is on the high side, but I think it’s worth it for the quality and flexibility this light provides.

Deceptively very light weight with a strong bright light. I was very surprised with the very light weight of this unit. The ribbed plastic outer shell provides a good gripping surface for gloved or wet hands and the unit does have a built in loop for a lanyard but the lanyard does not come with the unit. There are three light intensity settings selected by the push button on the rear end cap. The light does go off every time you push the button so it goes high, off, medium, off, low off. The spot to flood twist is a bit stiff and could be an issued for smaller children. Being a duel source light is a great advantage. When the rechargeable no longer has a charge you can still use the light with normal alkaline batteries (AAA). The light intensity is about equal between the two types 380/400 lumens but the duration is double with Alkaline at 3 hrs. of operation on high. The rechargeable unit can be charged just like a cell phone with the in slot (cord does come with the unit). And you can use the rechargeable cell as a power bank and charge you cell phone from the out slot (same cord). Very good product, well made, versatile recommended.
