This is a 12V battery charger, for 6V batteries you will need to connect in series to make 12V not parallel as this will maintain the 6V circuit.
HOW LONG ARE THE WIRES?????????
There is one main wire is 4’, then it splits into the separate red/black which are 6” to the tip of the clasp at the end of the wires. Hope that helps!
My husband thinks they were 3 to 4 feet, he added wire and said it was simple to do.
on my unit 3' - way too short for what I needed. I used 2 sets of 2 pin connectors and added about 15' of 18 gauge wire to reach from a south-facing window to the tractor I use this on as a battery maintainer. The connector sets allow me to return it to the short length or with more connectors and wire I can make it whatever length I need.

Will this survive a Michigan Winter? I want to maintain a generator battery year round and I am concerned about extreme cold. Granted, I have to remove any snow from the unit for it to work but will it survive in the cold temperatures and freezing snow?
We bought this panel 2 years ago (at least). So far this has lasted 2 Colorado winters for us. It is outside installed on the entrance gate to the property to keep my gate opener battery charged. It seems to be good quality for the price. We did use a different mounting bracket that makes the direction more adjustable. I think this will suit your needs.
Yes it will. I have a larger one on my big tractor in an unheated barn, so it gets cold in winter and warm in summer and keeps my tractor batteries topped off. I have two smaller panels on motorcycle and yard tractor batteries during the winter. I have all the chargers in south-facing windows so they don't get snowed or rained on. If you can't place the panel where the snow won't get to it you will have to keep it brushed off to get maximum performance from it.

I have a Dodge Conversion van with 12v-20A power outlets in the back that have power without needing the key. Will this work in those outlets and can I leave it plugged in with engine running?
Yes it will power your outlets but I would not recommend leaving it plugged in with the engine running.
This is a trickle charger to maintain charge on a battery for a vehicle, for something like an alarm system. It only puts out 6 watts of power. To run a 20 Amp load at 12 volts you would need 240 Watts of panels (40 of these).. You could however have it charge a battery and get about 20 minutes a day of 20 amp use and "keep up". If you are using the outlets to power a cell phone charger at 3-5 amps, (at 3 amps) then you could run it all day.

I need a 25' extension cable to reach battery on my dump trailer. Is an extension cable available? If so where can I buy one? How much?
If u use an extension cord it will loose to many amps it barely does anything as is no worth having takes weeks to put a volt or two in a battery
