yes, you can ...just make sure you connect the right cables together and i would use the electric caps and also wrap it in electrical tape just in case.
The lamp comes with the cords mentioned in the description, but they plug in so there is no need to do any wiring. One cord plugs into an outlet. If you get more than one of these, you can daisy chain them with the other cord or use the butt-connector. You will still need to open the fixture to mount it, but no wiring is needed (unless you don't have an outlet handy).
Good question. Honestly I'm don't know. Best bet is to ask Home Depot sales support. JS
Cord is approx. 36"
You can get a 5 ft. linking cable compatible with these lights. https://www.homedepot.com/p/Commercial-Electric-5-ft-Linking-Cord-for-1-Light-Strips-and-Shoplight-54242101/206121250
I had the same problem. I solved it two ways. 1) I added an outlet to the closet where it can be reached with the existing cord, and 2) I cut the plug off the existing cord, added a junction box in the closet, bought an extension cord long enough to reach an outlet and plugged it in after connecting the two cords in the junction box.
