It's close enough to 2"
The grommet shank OD measures about 1 7/8+" (maybe 1 29/64"), but there are some plastic veins on it as seen in the picture above that stick out a bit further to perhaps about 1 15/16+" . The OD of the lip on the grommet measures 2 1/2" so there is 1/4" lip all the way around. I cut a hole with a 2" Old Milwaukee Hole Dozer hole saw. The grommet seats in this hole with a little play and is easily removed. I put four raps of masking tape around the shank and it is snug enough that it will not rotate easily or fall out. Works for me.

Use 1 7/8 hole saw
I purchased three grommets that were identified as "2-inch" from my local Hole Depot. Thinking that they were designed for a 2-inch hole I used a 2-inch hole saw for the cut out. Should have checked first. The OD of the grommet that fits in the hole is 1 7/8-inch; not 2-inch. Now trying to find a grommet that fits snug in a 2-inch diameter hole.
